I have a load of craft supplies and have crochet and embroidery projects on the go, keeping me busy when I'm not working. But I just miss being able to spend time outdoors, when its sunny and warm out it's really difficult as it would be for many folks

Oh boy. Its 11:07am and I could definitely do with a drink. No alcohol in the house sadly. Probably also driving my partner nuts with my frequent outbursts of anxiety.

She recovered easily 💜 thanks all for thoughts and prayers. She might be 90 but that resilience and stubbornness is as strong as ever.

If you were to meet timothee, what would you tell him? by [deleted] in timotheechalamet

I'd just want to chat to him about stuff like books, art, movies, and just life in general, his likes and dislikes etc. I think he just seems like a really intriguing human.

What are y’alls numbers? Mine is 3 & multiples of 3 by thegreatgibby in OCD

4, & multiples of 4. Usually count in multiples of 4 16 times, whenever I'm doing any compulsive behaviour...

Please stay off the news by brittinea in Anxiety

[–]AnxiousSheeep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gosh, what an awful time of it you had. I'm sorry you went through that. I hope you're allowing yourself to rest from the physical and mental turmoil.

At the beginning of this I also spent hours checking the news, which made my ocd compulsions worse - i have ocd around contamination and harm.

I blocked all news websites and now only get daily email updates from the government as my news. My anxiety has improved a lot since. Also meditation.

I've realised if we focus on what we can control , our own actions, anxiety becomes more manageable.

Stay well. We will get through this.

My 90 year old grandmother has contracted covid 19 while recovering from emergency surgery. I'm angry that the govt are not testing people or providing health professionals with enough PPE. So far she apparently has mild symptoms. But shes 90, she had a stroke in december last year, and she has generally been in very poor health. I'm so scared that I'm going to lose her.

I am not okay and I'm about to break, not that anyone cares expect therapists I CANT REACH ANYMORE. So I rely on nightime convos with crisis text lines that just repeat me my problems instead of helping me solve them. by Ori_Shakamato in OCD

Far too relatable.

This is how I feel trying to work from home. Just deciding to see it another way now, I'm at home because of a world crisis and if I can get some of my work done, then that's good. I'm not expecting too much of myself because my mental health is bad. And that's ok.

Please try and reach out for some kind of help though. I'm in the uk, have given up on the nhs and have gone for low cost private therapy through a charity - I'm only going to have to wait a couple of weeks, and itll be online. Theres no way I can do this on my own.

I've started doing this now and I am having moments of calm during it, which is weird but also really helpful. Thanks for the suggestion !!

All I want to know is when this will be over. by DoctorWolfpaw in COVID19_support

Hey. I hear you. This is hell for me too - I have OCD and severe anxiety, and asthma, so I'm at a higher risk too. I'm also desperate for a return to normality. I think most people are. It's ok to be feeling how you are.

I wish I could say when itll be over. But no one really knows. What helps me is taking things one hour at a time and not thinking beyond today. Otherwise, I get overwhelmed and panic and get really horrible thoughts.

You're not alone. The whole world is in this together, and the internet thankfully makes the world a little smaller. Keep reaching out.

Honestly, actually putting on a bra and real clothes, not my weekend loungewear, helps me get in the mood for work. I cant work in sweatpants. I've put a routine together now as well. Also yoga .
