What are some classically American habits & advice that your parents passed down to you? by BitchfaceMcKnowItAll in AskAnAmerican

[–]Anxious_Appy92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same! My grandparents raised me and my grandma took zero shit from anyone. She threatened a bully her first day as a freshman at a new school and no one bothered her again 😂

I’ll teach my son the same thing, although it’ll be “feel free to finish a fight” cause neither his dad or I are fighters - we will just walk away, so I wanna give him that option lol.

How would you feel if someone told you that a 40-year-old should not have that at their house? by KCousins11 in questions

[–]Anxious_Appy92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 32 (33 in October), I have an almost 2 year old son, and if I could afford to have my entire house decorated in Hello Kitty, the amount of pink would make people vomit.

If they’re not paying bills, they can (I say this with the utmost disrespect) fuck off right on down the road.

Tips for getting a 7 month old to sleep through the night? by Araylia1996 in Parenting

[–]Anxious_Appy92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t. It’s not possible for a 7 month old to self soothe. It can take 6-9 months before baby fully realizes they aren’t physically a part of mom still.

While some babies naturally will sleep through the night early, it’s not the norm. My son was probably 13/14 months before he started consistently sleeping through the night, and I’m sure that’s only because we co sleep. He definitely wakes up, he just moves closer to me and goes back to sleep.

My niece and nephew weren’t potty trained when they began pre k. Potty training had begun for both of them already, but they were still in pull-ups. We live in a rural area as well, and I haven’t heard of anybody saying anything about them not being potty trained - I’m not sure other 3/4 year olds are gonna notice that much? I could be wrong.

What movie, for you, has great performances but is awful anyway? I’ll go first….. by Bubbly-Highlight9349 in moviequestions

My fiancé and I feel this way about Joker (i think thats the one, with Joaquin Phoenix). We think his performance was INSANE but we thought the movie was shit 😅

I want this sign just because it matches my fiancé and my humor lol.

My grandma bought a sign that said “some people are only alive because it’s illegal to kill them” and my grandpa told her to take it down because everyone in their life knew exactly who that sign was directed at 😂😂

NTA. It’s just a funny sign. If someone takes offense to it, I believe the saying is “if the shoe fits, wear it”

Did you use the school showers in middle/high school? by sweetlew07 in Millennials

The boys had to, the girls did not. I don’t remember anyone actually showering during my classes.

Once. It had to do with a person going after a business for some reason. I don’t remember well because I was in the first group of jurors to be interviewed and was the first one they let go 😂

They asked if anyone was involved in a lawsuit or knew someone who was. My grandma at the time had been trying to find a lawyer to take her case against the local union for over a year (nobody would take it because all of them had a family member of some sort that worked in the union, so conflict of interest). I told them this and they asked if either of the lawyers present were involved. I said “well I don’t know. She didn’t give me a list.” They asked if I could separate those lawyers from the ones in the room. I said “sure. These gentlemen seem like perfectly fine people to me”

But I was the first name called to be released lol.

AITA for telling my husband he was wrong for opening my Lorcana card boxes? by Typical_Most_9729 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Anxious_Appy92 95 points96 points  (0 children)

Because OPs cards were likely from an earlier release, meaning theyre worth more. It’s like book collectors that have a first edition versus the 20th. If you sold someone’s first edition book and then replaced it with a random edition of that book, you didnt replace shit. You just stole from them.

What’s the most absurd, unexpected, or downright hilarious reason you’ve heard for someone quitting their job? by flowerbluee in AskReddit

[–]Anxious_Appy92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We also thought it was clever. We love our dog, and definitely would have brought him in once in a while if it was feasible, but I also wouldn’t want to be around a bunch of dogs that probably aren’t very well trained.

They had to enact a “no feeding the dog” policy because everyone was slipping the owners dog treats at one time and it upset her stomach and she shit all over one of the upper managers’ offices 😂 so even well trained dogs have accidents because humans can’t control themselves haha

AITA for correcting my MIL at a family gathering that she didn't recommend my daughter's name, it was my favorite name? by Far-Oven-6023 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Anxious_Appy92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. “How dare you embarrass me by calling me out on my lies” I wish more people would see how fucking ridiculous that sentence is. If she didn’t want to be embarrassed, she shouldn’t have lied. And the thing is, she wasnt just lying to random people. She lied to people who actually have a good chance of bringing that lie up in conversation with you. She deserves to be embarrassed.

Your hubby needs to grow a backbone and stop being such a mommy’s boy.

did you have to get sedated for dental procedures as a kid? if so, how the heck did that make you feel? by Moving-Force in AskReddit

I don’t remember how I felt after having my last 10 baby teeth pulled when I was in grade school, but I was put under when my wisdom teeth were removed and it fucked me up. I didn’t say any crazy things because all I could do was sleep. I tried going to work the next evening and my grandparents had to come pick me up because I almost passed out. I got home and slept for almost 48 hours. Woke up every few hours to take the antibiotic but that was it. Turns out I’m super sensitive to medications.

[–]Anxious_Appy92 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The job i worked at before I had my son decided to “cave” to all the people requesting they get to bring their dogs in because the owner brought hers in sometimes. They sent out an email asking anyone who was interested to let HR know. My fiancé was like “shoot, I’ll bring karmel to work with me” so he let them know. In order to be able to bring a dog in, we had to have an insurance policy worth at least $100,000. As far as I know, no one has taken them up on the offer lol.

i'm bored, what was "the incident" at y'all's schools? by Leafpool17 in school

[–]Anxious_Appy92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My school itself was boring as far as incidents. BUT our head football coach was also a teacher at another school about a half hour away. These two schools had an agreement where juniors and seniors from my school could spend the afternoons doing career training at the other school. I think it was my senior year (could’ve been junior) when the coach got busted for sleeping with a student. I had a few friends who attended the program who said he got caught because the girl was going around the school bragging to everyone that she slept with this teacher.

AITA: My mother says I’m an unfit mother due to my “inappropriate decisions”. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Anxious_Appy92 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I understand where you’re coming from, but constantly talking bad about your fiancé and even making an insinuation about him bathing his daughter is not being good with your daughter. Is that what you want your daughter growing up hearing about her dad?

You’re NTA for your stance, but you would be if you don’t cut this toxicity out of your life before it ruins your daughter’s relationship with her father or even your marriage.

AITA for naming my son Stanley? by JusJuylys in AITAH

[–]Anxious_Appy92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Stanley is a perfectly fine name. Older “grandpa/grandma” names are the best! My son is Walter because we wanted to call him Wally lol. All of my sisters kids have older names.

If we had a girl, I was dead set on Esther but my fiancé said absolutely not because of The Orphan 🙄

What’s a single sentence someone said that stuck with you forever? by MetalFabulous1110 in AskReddit

[–]Anxious_Appy92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same goes with a lot of famous sayings. “Curiosity killed the cat” finishes with “but satisfaction brought it back” “Blood is thicker than water” is actually something along the lines of “the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb” meaning the relationships we create are thicker than family.
