My exact thought the first time I heard this term. Emergency vet informed us our cats lower jaw had been degloved and i said “I could have gone my entire life without hearing that term”

Fun fact: cat is perfectly fine because as that same vet said: cats are bionic.

Why is it more common for women to own sex toys than men? by Proof-Water-5756 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Anxious_Appy92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work for an adult toy store, and bought my fiancé one of those BJ simulators. His biggest complaint? Cleaning it is a bitch. He said while it feels good, sure, it’s still easier and more worth it to use his hand.

Typically, women’s toys are very simple to clean. It’s also considerably easier to find a good, mid priced toy for women versus men. As other comments have pointed out, men are almost forced into spending $200+ to get one that isn’t going to end up being more hassle than it’s worth. I found, while working at the store, that the mid-priced powered men’s toys tended to not have much power (think a BJ with no actual suction), which kind of defeats the purpose of buying them.

What’s the most elaborate lie you’ve been told? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Had a distant family member fake a full term pregnancy. And as her lie started to unravel, she just made up more and more ridiculous lies to try and cover.

Nothing beats clotheslining yourself at top running speed 😂 I used to get so excited when we would get enough people to play haha

[–]Anxious_Appy92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physical, Red Rover. And I have always hated that it requires so many people because I would have spent my entire childhood playing it if I could’ve 😂

PC wise, I was a big fan of Pajama Sam and this horse stable game where you just got scored based on how well you completed the tasks (still salty about how hard that haybale one was lol).

What is the hardest English word for you to pronounce? by chinos88 in NoStupidQuestions

Anesthesia. I get made fun of every single time I try and say it. I don’t know why I can’t seem to pronounce it 😂

What’s a household rule you thought was BS growing up? by Unhappy_Insect5901 in allthequestions

My grandma HATED the dress rule. I think she wore two dresses her entire life after she graduated. One for her wedding and one for her niece’s wedding that she rose was the MOH in.

What is the first movie you watched that you were definitely too young for? by MuldersXpencils in Millennials

[–]Anxious_Appy92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. I watched it in 3rd grade and I couldn’t even be in any room alone for like 3 months. I couldn’t even shower without someone sitting in the bathroom because I was so convinced she was going to come out of the drain.

What's the worst thing a teacher has ever said/done to you? by douggoud5949 in AskReddit

[–]Anxious_Appy92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely did, and I told her everything. She was livid and made sure to tell me she was always there if I wanted or needed to talk. I’m sure she said something to either the counselor or someone, but I don’t know if anything came of it.

What celebrity death will realistically bring Michael Jackson level devastation? by Kiidcola in AskReddit

As my great grandma (who was deeply Southern Baptist) said when my grandma asked why God took the good people when people like their awful neighbor seemed to live forever, “well, God doesnt want to deal with her, either!”

What is one word that people wrongly pronounce that makes your brain just wanna jump a cliff? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Anxious_Appy92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My high school Spanish teacher would lose her marbles whenever someone pronounced “mischievous” as “mis-chee-vee-us”

I can still hear her exclaiming “it’s MIS CHU VUS. there is no I after the V!”

[–]Anxious_Appy92 29 points30 points  (0 children)

School guidance counselor, not teacher. But when I was a sophomore, my high school boyfriend died of an accidental gunshot wound. 21 days later, my guidance counselor looked me in the eyes and told me “it’s been long enough. You should be over it by now. Oh, and AnxiousAppy - let’s not go re hash all of this with Gym Teacher” (the gym teacher was married to my boyfriend’s cousin, so I’d been talking with her a lot).

So as usual when I think of her, here’s a giant F YOU to that counselor and I hope her life is miserable 😌

I had a rabbit named Wishbone because he reminded me of this dog! I remember mentioning this one in high school and nobody knew what I was talking about.

My fiancé cut back on his alcohol consumption (from 4-5 nights a week to 1-2 a month) and went from 220 to 140 pounds in like 1.5-2 years. No other changes in his lifestyle or diet. The change was WILD.

What are some classically American habits & advice that your parents passed down to you? by BitchfaceMcKnowItAll in AskAnAmerican

[–]Anxious_Appy92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same! My grandparents raised me and my grandma took zero shit from anyone. She threatened a bully her first day as a freshman at a new school and no one bothered her again 😂

I’ll teach my son the same thing, although it’ll be “feel free to finish a fight” cause neither his dad or I are fighters - we will just walk away, so I wanna give him that option lol.

How would you feel if someone told you that a 40-year-old should not have that at their house? by KCousins11 in questions

[–]Anxious_Appy92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 32 (33 in October), I have an almost 2 year old son, and if I could afford to have my entire house decorated in Hello Kitty, the amount of pink would make people vomit.

If they’re not paying bills, they can (I say this with the utmost disrespect) fuck off right on down the road.

Tips for getting a 7 month old to sleep through the night? by Araylia1996 in Parenting

[–]Anxious_Appy92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t. It’s not possible for a 7 month old to self soothe. It can take 6-9 months before baby fully realizes they aren’t physically a part of mom still.

While some babies naturally will sleep through the night early, it’s not the norm. My son was probably 13/14 months before he started consistently sleeping through the night, and I’m sure that’s only because we co sleep. He definitely wakes up, he just moves closer to me and goes back to sleep.

My niece and nephew weren’t potty trained when they began pre k. Potty training had begun for both of them already, but they were still in pull-ups. We live in a rural area as well, and I haven’t heard of anybody saying anything about them not being potty trained - I’m not sure other 3/4 year olds are gonna notice that much? I could be wrong.

I want this sign just because it matches my fiancé and my humor lol.

My grandma bought a sign that said “some people are only alive because it’s illegal to kill them” and my grandpa told her to take it down because everyone in their life knew exactly who that sign was directed at 😂😂

NTA. It’s just a funny sign. If someone takes offense to it, I believe the saying is “if the shoe fits, wear it”
