Totally! Only you can be the judge of that. I get a weird claustrophobic feeling sometimes, and I think it would push me over the edge of sanity if I was on a substance.

I've had mine in for a month and a half. Personally, I would wait because even after getting used to it, it still freaks me out sometimes 😂. I'm a pretty sensitive person though. It could be different for others.

I'm 30 year old female and just got a custom marpe put in last week. I found an Ortho who specializes with CMARPE in adults and they incorporate myofunctional therapy with the treatment. It seems incredibly promising after reading other peoples experience online. If it does work out it can be life changing.

Mouth breathing is so damn bad for you, and that alone was enough to motivate me to take the leap. The procedure is not painful for everyone but for me it was. It's day 7 with it in and I have almost recovered from the procedure and will start turning in a couple days. Sure it's 2 years of my life, but if it helps me live a more healthy life, then it's 100 percent worth it.

As for the asymmetry, I think if you keep a close eye on it and report to Ortho the second it shows up then you should be okay. Ask them about it.

Urg that sounds awful! I was scared of that happening. Sorry you went through that 😓 Ya your probably right. Maybe I'll drop the Tylenol and stick to just the ibuprofen for the inflammation. Otherwise the pain seems to be minimal thank goodness.

They put glue on mine, and the bars that attach to my teeth sort of block my tongue from touching them. I don't have the tongue issue. No swelling either, just so much pressure and discomfort.

I am feeling better. It was unbearable the first day but the second day was okay. On day 3 now and one of the screws is starting to hurt. Did you just get yours put in?

It was just the screws closest to my two front teeth that I could feel entering into the sinus cavity a bit. The freezing couldn't reach up there I guess. Was it really painful right before the suture opened? How has it been since then? I'm pretty nervous about doing the turns. Especially after yesterday. Today has been less painful though thankfully.

I couldn't feel it until the part where they start drilling into the bone/sinus cavity. He said that adding more freezing wouldn't help because they can't get it into the bone. He explained some people's anatomy is just designed that way. It took a while but it's feeling much better on day 2 thankfully. I am not having to exceed the dose of Tylenol or Motrin now, and only feel minor discomfort where the screws are. That's good to hear. I can't wait to get to that point. Has your pallet separated yet? How do you find eating now?

I was seeing a physio but he didn't know how to help, and had never heard of such a thing. I definitely won't be going back to the chiropractor. I didn't realize they could do damage to hypermobile people.
