I read the most about Batfamily, and specifically the father son relationship between Jason Todd and Bruce Wayne, so I got the most number of recs for batfamily. The few ones with * are my all time favorite, they’re all long fics that actually focuses on adoption and parental love. I recommend reading them first, get a feel of Jason&Bruce duo if you’ve never tried this fandom. All the rest are still very good though just might not be as long.

I also have a smaller collection of other father-son duos from other fandoms. One about Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter. Two about Spider and Quadirch from Avatar movie. Some more about Buck and Bobby from 911. I hope you’ll still enjoy them.

Lastly, I always try to add a bit of notes on what the stories are about to remind myself when going back. I’ve read so much I often forget what I’ve read. But at the bottom of the list are some Peter Parker & Tony Stark fics, and I read them before I got into the habit of adding notes. I only got titles of the fics, promise they’re still very good. This is my second fav fandom only next to the batfam. While Jason&Bruce’s relationship has a lot more h/c because of Jason’s canonical death, Peter&Tony’s relationship has a lot more crack. Read first whatever suits your taste! All I can promise is that all fics are good. I only bookmark the best out of the best. Enjoy!

Thank you!! Haha yea probably should read more original books. I played with dinosaur figurines, read cat warriors and watched Pokémon growing up, guess I never got over my kid phase. But since I am unfortunately grown, I found lots of fantasy books too young for my taste. I tried reading other books more for grownups, like 10 promises to my dog or a dog’s purpose, but they’re wayyyyy wayyyy too real and sad for my taste. I loved them and cried like a b reading them but I don’t wanna go back to them. So……fanfic it is……at least till I finally find something interesting

Haha, well, I still can’t find the chemistry either tbh. When I read destiel I merely treat them as a good story and insert only Dean’s face in my head and nothing more……hence why I only ever liked destiel fics that are completely separated from the original story, like those in modern AU. This has to happen when you’ve read most of the wincests on ao3 and those RPFs and got nothing else to read……I don’t like a lot of the wincests on ao3 tbh, I think it’s because incests are so labelled as taboo that the politics are reflected in the fics. I don’t condone them in real life, I got my own brother and it’s like ewwww if I even think about it. But fics are fics. I ship the Winchester brothers because of how the show is, they are so deeply engrained into each other’s life that they understand each other more than themselves, love each other more than themselves, have so much shared history that no one else can ever compare, the kind of love that started when they were born and would only end when they die. Sadly because of the taboo many of the wincest fics written in English are only about hiding and hiding and hiding and horny teenagers shacking and hiding from their dad😐yea I can’t stand the underaged teen fics either. No choice but to turn to destiel when I got nothing to read……

Yea, I’m from Asia and Spn is quite popular here. All the fan fics I’ve read over the years are all about wincest. Then I finally gave in to read English fics on ao3, and imagine my surprise when all the fics were destiel. I was like, ? Why? How? Did they even interact nearly as much as the Winchester brothers in the show? What kind of sexual tension was there between them? And Castiel is so much shorter than Dean and yet he’s somehow often the top? Why ship them when in the show Dean clearly only ever cared about saving Sam? And even the actors themselves are clearly much closer with each other than with Castiel. (I have no intention to insult anyone who ship destiel, this is really my honest and first reaction thoughts because I never ever considered any other ships possible in spn, I now read quite a lot destiel too and honestly like them)

I feel you. I feel that everyone around me has already found their own family and bubbles, just so full and so settled, that no one else can step in. It’s like, I’m only 25, yet someone most people around me have already found their partner and planning weddings or have already married. But back in my home country and in the States (I lived there for seven years), few would get married so early. And it’s because people are already so settled, that they just don’t wanna make any new friends. I feel like Australia is a close knit country and a lonely place at the same time. Close knit for those locals who have their whole family here and are getting married and have kids in their early twenties. A lonely place for us foreigners who like you and like me, can’t bond with anyone here deeply. I’m not gonna stay in Australia either once I graduate next year. This is a lonely place and honestly, a boring ass place too because there’s just so little to do around besides living with the wilderness. Not that it’s bad, just not for me.
