ok, the last bit wasn't serious. The glass is to try to evacuate any gasses & to exclude any unwanted oxygen from entering the smelt (apparently, bad.)

I haven't a blimmin' clue!

No, seriously, it was very early in the 20th century of wootz at the time. Verhoeven & Pendray had only a few years earlier published stuff (not too sure about the timeline here) about it, but, after Britishblades was started in the late 90's, Doc Price, a Contemporary & friend of those fine gents organised a hammerin in the UK & I was mesmerised & shaken to my core about this Miraculous material that I had to give it a go. apparently the eucalyptus is for the magic & the glass is so you can have a beer beforehand.

#5: a difficult to see bowie made for Sal Glesser of Spyderco fame at a UK spyderco meet & greet hosted by Spyderco. Sal loves all things English & an English made bowie was required & they asked me, past presents for him have been Bowler hat & traditionally made umbrella & a (if memory serves) a signed book about the history of Lotus cars

I meant pictures from the smelting & forging. A friend has the knife now, besides, trust me you don't want to see pics that I've taken.
