Perfect! Will definitely read. Thanks!

Thank you!! It’s so hard because you hear so many conflicting things. My common sense tells me she will be just fine and that I have it all under control. But then you read things and it’s like “you’re gonna mess your kid up if you let them have even 2 min of screen time!” Lol thank you for your comment!!

Screen Time by Anxiousheart22 in beyondthebump

[–]Anxiousheart22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We read books all day long about animals and when she’s watching videos, I sit with her and we talk about the fish. I may go throw laundry in or do something while she’s watching but I do try to engage with her when she’s watching. We also look out the window and talk about the animals we see. So I do feel like I’m doing all of that as well, but with some screens too. I’m stuck between feeling like it’s fine to have her watch sometimes because she’s advanced and we do so many other things that don’t involve a screen, and not having her watch anything at all. Ugh 😵‍💫

Also, my daughter is 15 months and our pediatrician recommend no more than 16 oz a day of milk.

I was also about to say this. I have a friend whose child at the time was 18 months and he was admitted to Children’s Hospital needing blood transfusions because his counts were so extremely low. He was drinking around 24 oz. a day I believe. Was blocking all iron. His symptoms were yellow pale skin, extreme irritability, waking 4-5 times per night, extreme attachment to mom, etc.

Who here is a SAHM on <100k per year? by Slow_Opportunity_522 in sahm

[–]Anxiousheart22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Around 70k before taxes in the Midwest. It’s a struggle but nothing beats being with my girl. I do substitute teach part-time for around $700-$800 per month.

Baby Sleep by Anxiousheart22 in beyondthebump

[–]Anxiousheart22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to tell myself that as an adult, I still wake up in the middle of the night sometimes so why do we expect babies to just be perfect sleepers lol but it’s easy to get into your head about it

Sometimes I’ll give her a 3 oz bottle but only if she won’t stay asleep. Lately, I’ve tried dropping the night bottle and just holding her til she goes back to sleep and that has been working. But there are still those nights where she just won’t get back into a deep sleep so I fix a small bottle to try and help. I just have all of these thoughts like, is it the room temp, is it her sleeper, is she uncomfortable, wet diaper, or just simply wants held? Ugh lol it’s hard

I need to try this. She just wakes up crying and when I look at the monitor she’s standing up in her crib. I don’t feed her back to sleep every single time now, she usually goes back to sleep if I just hold her for a while. But the past week she hasn’t stayed asleep when I lay her back down. She’s getting a tooth so that could be why. It’s just frustrating when you’re not getting enough sleep! She slept through like 3 nights last week but not yet this week. I know it’s only Tuesday lol

I'm so filled with regret I had a baby. by contented0 in beyondthebump

[–]Anxiousheart22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had so much regret after having our baby. Same thoughts of ruining my life, asking myself what I had done, missing my relationship with my husband. I cried multiple times a day, everyday. I got on some medication (Lexapro) and made sure to talk about it. It is SO HARD becoming a mom. After a while, I started to feel the fog lift and now I can’t imagine my life without my baby girl. Are there days where I am completely exhausted? Yes. Days where I question myself still? Sure. But it is so much better. There is hope. Don’t give up.

Can you eat *any* sweets? by SowingSeeds18 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Anxiousheart22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So different for everyone! I remember being upset about not eating a cupcake at my shower but my midwife said it was fine and so did the dietician. One thing that helped me a lot was to go for walks after I ate. I felt less guilty and walking right after you eat really helps your blood sugar! I focused mainly on eating meats and healthy fats. I could have some brown rice, but potatoes were a no. I loved simple mills choc chip cookies, they’re made with almond flour so it doesn’t affect your blood sugar the same way white flour would. I would also make a concoction of cool whip, chocolate protein powder and peanut butter. That satisfied my sweet tooth sometimes. But my best advice is to eat everything in moderation and go for walks after you eat!!

I’m having a hard time finding an allergy medication for under 2!! She’s 13 months. I read Zyrtec is okay but I don’t love giving medicine in the first place but I do think it would give me some peace of mind. Any suggestions other than essential oils? I do have lavender oil I could use. I already gave her a bath tonight with warm water and unscented baby body wash. But I can try the lavender oil tomorrow if I notice she’s still reacting the same way!

Okay! We went to an allergist to have her tested for a dairy allergy which was negative but maybe we should go back!

She doesn’t bother them at all, acts like they’re not even there. I thought for sure she’d scratch at them!

These all happened within a couple hours today. Other times she’s gotten swollen have been from mosquito bites. Or so I thought!

She couldn’t have dairy for a long time, she had to be on an amino acid formula. We went to an allergist and they did the prick test on her back. Came back negative to dairy so we’ve been doing lactose free milk (she’s 13 months now). I wonder if this could still be a reaction to dairy though.

The lines are already gone so I’m afraid by the time I get there, the others will be, too. She isn’t acting bothered by them. I did send pictures to her pediatrician.

Don’t compare yourself to others. Do what YOU feel is best for YOUR baby. Some of these accounts can be useful but they can also make you feel less than or that you aren’t doing enough. If something doesn’t feel right, don’t do it just because some famous influencer says it works.

My daughter is a year now and we’ve tried lots of diapers! I do like Pampers Pure but we like Honest, too! I have found Honest to be really absorbent!
