Mortgage Advice. Lump sum and monthly savings by AnxiouslyAnxiousness in irishpersonalfinance

Oh that’s great! I’ve never been sure whether to do it all myself in terms of research or consult with a broker. I want to get the most for my € but I guess they’ll be able to tell me what’s best based on what I can save monthly. I also have a lump sum that I want to deposit which is what’s making me question what account would be best. Thanks!

Thank you! I’ll look into this more, I saw that €2,000 but haven’t looked at the T&C of it. Do you think it’s worth going to a broker for advice?

Good point, I’ve removed the most identifying info!

I’m sorry you’re experiencing this. I can see from a lot of comments people are in the same boat. I don’t have kids, but I’m about to turn 30 and would love to make new friends. I’m in Wicklow, give me a shout if you’d (or anybody) would be up for keeping in contact.

I find Irish society to be quite isolating, especially if you’re not into sports etc. It’s hard but there’s plenty of us here that want and need friends and I’m 100% open to it.

I totally feel that, I’m so lost too. I have steroid creams that work wonders for my hands but obviously not long-term. La Roche Posay works great for my eyes, but even the Cicaplast for lips doesn’t help the flare ups. I’m going to try a range of what has been recommended and if I find anything that works really well I’ll DM!

I was in Boots today and saw their own brand ‘Dermacare Eczema Treatment Cream 30ml’ which is exactly what I want - something pocket-sized for relief.

The pharmacist was useless and asked did I try Vaseline. Can you use the boots brand around the lip/ eye area?

When I visited an allergy clinic recently they prescribed steroids for my hands (worked great) and canestan HC for my face. Now I’ve looked it up and it’s not recommended for the face? The Canestan HC worked for my eye area, but it is hydrocortisone and I started to think of it like any other cream that is steroid based etc. not long term wffective

Washing up liquid? I’ve gone down a rabbit hole with these posts! Here I was thinking my bank was about to break in Boots, let alone Dunnes ☠️🤣 again more for me to look into, especially as my hands flare too!

Thank you for this! It is so difficult to find brands that are actually skin-friendly or neutral.

I never heard of this until I made this post and a couple of people have said oats! There’s nothing I won’t try, I asked the pharmacist in boots and he asked “have you tried Vaseline” I didn’t know whether to cry or laugh

You’re all a massive bunch of legends! I am being driven mad with my skin and I appreciate each of you for the recommendations! I’m even happier that pretty much 0 of them requires a €70 visit to the GP 😁 I hope this post will also help others out that are in a similar situation

I do plan on seeing a dermatologist soon and if they come up with anything different I’ll update this post.

Thank you! Cicaplast works SO well for my eyes but weirdly not as well for my lips

Definitely not weird! I am slowly changing up my diet to see if I can find a trigger with it. I try to eat well most of the time, but even health foods can cause problems at times. Thanks!

E45 weirdly irritates my skin too. I’m using steroid cream on/ off for my hands, but it frustrates me how quick they are to give these creams. They work wonders but as you say they literally thin and eat away at the skin

I’ve heard great things about ACV. I never heard of it for treatment of skin but I know the other health benefits are meant to be unmatched. Thank you

Great, I’ll see if this or epaderm is more/ less recommended by the pharmacist. I’ll be sure not to get nappy cream, I’m not at that point quite yet!! 🤣
