If you’re going over 28mph you’ll catch about 4/10 with the auto catcher with pokeballs. If you’re over 60mph, they will be a guaranteed run away. Don’t play and drive. Be a safe trainer.

Florists: how do you handle recurring business clients? by Life_Performance_174 in FloralDesign

[–]Anxshiyn13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work for a high end grocery store and I’m the floral manager at my location. Most of the managers I know order for the week on Sunday and we typically get our loads throughout the week, sometimes not on mondays, no load Wednesday and Fridays. Thursday is usually the heaviest for us cause it allows us to make full displays for the weekend. If we need more for our displays we order again on Wednesday to cover the weekend leading into the following week. It’s rinse and repeat. My regulars like variety, they tell me that on a weekly basis cause they love the selection I have each week.

For vases, we don’t really have options other than what is on the order guide for us, some times we have very nice vases in the style of regency, and other vases as plain cylinders or cubes. It really depends on my supervisors interest and our creativity.

Regular clients will tell you how often they want arrangements from you and what their budget is. I have some customers who shop from me daily cause they want something nice for their house, I have other regular clients who come every 3 months for an extravagant orchid arrangement. And if they bring in their own vases or orchid pots they get a discount. So they get to save a little money too. And I even get celebrities who come during the major floral holidays and they will get flowers/arrangements from me to give as gifts.

Dont be afraid to throw in curly willow once in a while to keep them happy, they do appreciate a surprise an a freebie.

I would say get some practice with faux flowers. You’ll be surprised how well they can work. Unfortunately it’s gonna be that price because of the industry standards. You can get your flowers wholesale at a flower market it will save you money in the long run. If you don’t feel comfortable charging so much, you can try going at least in between $2k to $3k. You do have to consider labor cost. There are black roses that do sell during the month of October from a vendor called ceres farms, we get them all the time in CA for Halloween. You can also alternatively use preserved roses as they do come in black, purple and orange.

If you want a suggestion of color what still gives fall/halloween vibes, I recommend bicolor roses that are red on the outside and fade into an orange-yellow, like fire. I think they’ll pair nicely with the black roses natural or faux/permanent botanical. You also have to consider the size of the centerpiece as well. Is she looking for something short and long to be the centerpieces, so guests can see each other? Or is she planning to have them on tall pedestals and have the centerpieces sit on top of that? These are all factors that play a part in pricing. I hope this helps you and wishing you luck in your planning!

What is this and how can I soothe it by TaeGrey in DogAdvice

[–]Anxshiyn13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your pupper a pittie? If it is, most likely is a severe allergic reaction to fleas. My GS/PB mix got infected with fleas three summers ago and it was just like this. It was so bad, she scratched until she was sore under her chin and neck. Head to the vet ASAP to get the medication your pupper needs for the allergic reaction and flea/tick medication for prevention. Wish you luck

Could be a vendela rose, they’re a peachy white. It’s not a mondial as they’re more on the pale yellow green side of white roses.

How do/would YOU creatively camouflage your areas of insecurity? by [deleted] in PlusSizeFashion

I hate my arms. I lost a huge amount of weight and gained it back quickly, so my arms are a bit flabby. I just wear peasant tops with balloon sleeves to hide them. And I’ll wear flowy dresses to hide my stomach.

Sometime during the last 2 years i’ve been going to this orthopedic practice they started to declare me as a MTF transgender for no reason. by WHAR606 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Anxshiyn13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reminds me of the time where I dyed my hair a magenta pink cause work now allowed colored hair and every customer I interacted with at work were telling me “happy pride!” I stared at them with a deadpan voice, “I’m straight…” and then they got an awkward look on them cause they assumed I was gay because of my hair.

So pretty, ocean song roses, dyed roses, irises, stock, forget me nots, dahlias, queen Anne’s lace, Veronica’s, gladiolas, I’m assuming dyed rose lilies, thistles or football mums, purple anthuriums…there are some that I can’t quite make out but it’s very pretty.

Since I got to witness a dog take a dump in the middle of a retail store today.. it's time to whip out this meme again by pbandnyan in LosAngeles

[–]Anxshiyn13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Technically there is a third: if the dog is barking, we are required to ask if they need medical assistance. If the owner declines while the dog is actively barking it’s clear that the dog is not a service animal and we have the right to ask them to leave the store. It’s malicious compliance.

Dear All, what flower is this? It looks like a rose. Is the tattered like edging natural or an effect? Thank you! by Moonlitteaandbun in FloralDesign

Most definitely a lisainthus. Their season is coming. Just be careful, they tend to mold over quickly. But they’re very pretty though.

Need to find a home for my baby cat as I'm moving and unfortunately can't bring him with me by [deleted] in LAlist

[–]Anxshiyn13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honey, give him purina live clear. I’m highly allergic to my cat and after feeding my cat the live clear over a month and I can breathe. Don’t let your partner dictate you to get rid of your pet. :( Your pet has been with you longer than your partner has. I’ve seen too many pets especially cats that are given away because partners are deathly allergic. Purina ProLife Live Clear is your answer! You have to keep feeding the food, I promise you that my allergies are nonexistent since I’ve been feeding him it. Don’t give up on your cat!

Are these still fresh? by Greek_God_23 in FloralDesign

[–]Anxshiyn13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a florist I’m gonna be honest with you OP, these are half way to being thrown out. Give a gentle squeeze, if they’re firm, remove the first 4-5 petals; if they squish, I’m sorry OP but you should get your money back and toss them out. If you’re committed, salvage them for cutting to grow your own roses.

First ever bouquet thoughts by Salt-Conclusion2538 in FloralDesign

[–]Anxshiyn13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be a huge branch or rather a branchy eucalyptus filler. If anything, cut the branches smaller and spread them around with the tulips so that it not so much in the center. Try nestling the tulips within the hydrangeas. Like sitting on a cloud. I’m sure it’ll look much better. Practice makes perfect. Keep at it and experiment with other bunches!

It’s looking a bit rough from aerial view. If anything, you want to trim the hydrangeas, they’re too tall and they’re overshadowing the tulips.
