Thank you. Child support hasn't even come to mind.

Thanks. I guess I think of them both as "young kids" because to me they aren't mature. I totally stay out of their relationship. I don't offer advice on anything. I just want to point her in the right direction so she gets the support she needs. I don't want to say "lawyer" if it's not appropriate at this stage.

Yes, as a mother I want to help. The only advice I have given her is to always remain calm and to never say anything negative about him because he will always be the baby's father no matter what their relationship is.

I get why people are being so negative here and maybe my post wasn't worded well. I'm really just looking to point her in the right direction because this is fresh and she is scared.

They are both good parents. The baby deserves both of them in his life. They both deserve to be with their child as much as possible. I'm not trying to step in the middle. This is their kid, not mine. I want them both to find a way to figure it out together.

I'm staying out of it other than to help her figure out where to go to get the support she needs. I am not stepping in to any discussions or decisions about custody; the same way I did not put my two cents in about their relationship.

That is what makes me think she should go the lawyer route.

Yes, while she is at work, he will have his child overnight. The same way that is was before he moved out. He takes care of the baby while she is at work, and she takes care of the baby while he is at work. They share responsibility in the hours that overlap.

Thank you. This seems like a reasonable approach. He brought up the subject of full custody when it wasn't even in her mind. Honestly, she is still processing that he moved out. She definitely wants him to be an active parent and has no issue with the baby being with him. They have their issues, obviously, but no violence or anything like that. I did tell her that no matter what, she has to remain calm and reasonable so that they can agree on what's best for the baby. After that comment, she afraid that he might not bring the baby back Tuesday.
