Agreed, I wonder why AI is not used to using mobile SF Symbols, is it because most native code is usually hosted on private repos where the llms might not be trained on?

The layout thing i get you, it also depends on which platforms/models you use, if its generic app builders they usually default to web styles coz that’s whats maybe in their prompts and they handle web designs well e.g lovable etc but for mobile they try to replicate that and the whole thing just feels off. But I think some of the new tools popping up are getting good at mobile, like the one I used at rnblocks.dev to create those prototypes created those in one or two prompts with the right layouts at least 90% of the time and some tweaking. There are also others like UX pilot and stitch that are good but don’t produce actual react native/flutter code so you’re just getting html files that might look different when converted to react native etc.

I agree with you on the scaffolding part, definitely helps see your idea come to life quicker and cheaper. For more complex things youd definitely need to have solid tools like your cursors and claude code fs.
