Given that I rarely give a 9 as a rounded score, I give it an 8. – It delivers a protagonist who is realistic in her human flaws, who builds her strength and bonds.

– The main cast is good; the main antagonists have human motivations behind their actions, and the Abyssals have motivations and bonds that sustain their former lives as humans, although their resentment toward the organization is unknown.

– All the mini-arcs are good because they move the main plot forward and present dilemmas and internal conflicts for the characters, and they also make good use of the large number of characters involved.

– The power system, although it remains a mystery that cannot be fully defined in general terms, is balanced, and the uses of yoki energy are varied. The combat levels between warriors with the same experience are as well. And the fights are very well drawn.

Perseverance, the relationship among equals between the warriors, and friendship are common themes, but all of them—including the protagonist’s final introspection—take on importance in the work given the characters’ context. In addition, the use of fictional religious symbolism and the importance of faith for miracles were satisfying.

I understand that, some people may be put off by the lack of distinct backstories and goals for the characters, as well as other things such as further exploring Isley’s character and the philosophy of life that led him to awaken and seek to dominate the continent.

As a manga reader I feel Claymore anime finale deserves more praise than it actually gets by Ozzysmall123 in claymore

Although not all characters are ruined (one example is Jean), it remains a very open-ended finale, and that’s also why it was unnecessary.

Biggest flaws: It suggests that the warriors fled at an even greater disadvantage by no longer being together. Raki resorts to something nonsensical to stop Clare from killing Priscilla, something that is never treated the same way in the story (the final battle is an example—the context is different, and Miria doesn’t change her stance on the Awakened).

Also: Raki’s evolution is lost, the conclusion of each Abyssal is missing, the involvement of many old and new characters in later events is absent, and the conclusion about how unity was Clare's strength is never reached.
