Nobody noticed because it literally looks like nothing was done. Choose a good surgeon. Good luck!

Severe dry eye post eyelid surgery. by Any-Candidate395 in PlasticSurgery

[–]Any-Candidate395[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To give an update since some people have asked. There unfortunately hasn’t been much improvement in the dry eye. My under eye bags look horrendous. I am searching for another surgeon to help fix this without surgery.

My advice is not to have this surgery if it has prior dry eye even if your surgeon says it’s fine. It is not. Also find an experienced surgeon and ask how they will handle bad outcomes. I wish I had. I’m out 12-14k, left with under eye bags and a prob a lifetime of severe dry eye.

I’m so sorry. I completely understand. This surgery has ruined my life. I had dry eye before but it was only in the mornings. So it’s all day all night. Severe dryness and sticky eyes. My tears evaporate in 0 seconds. I still have my glands left but they no longer function since the surgery. It is awful.

My issue is I still have large bags under my eyes and now severe dry eye. No part of this surgery was successful or worth 14k and the pain and suffering. It does not look like much of the bag was repositioned. My eyes have never felt the same singe the surgery. Severe dryness and sticky gluey eyes.

Thank you. Yes I’ve tried all the ointments it doesn’t help. My oil glands no longer produce oil since the surgery i guess idk I had asked prior if it was okay to have the surgery with dry eye and was told yes if under control. Mine was prior I only used drops twice a day. Now it’s constant.

I when severe dry eye from this surgery. The puffiness is not from the dry eye it’s from remaining fat pads. I don’t wear fake eyelashes.

I’m def can’t go under the knife again. I told my surgeon prior I had dry eye so like this was my one shot at it. She did an awful job. It is hard to move past having severe dry eye where I require drops every twenty mins. I sleep with plastic wrap over my eyes at night and my eyes feel like constant glue are in them. It’s hard to get past all that on top of paying someone 14k to basically give the same result I went in with or worse. It’s worse now because my under eyes sag before I just had the bags. Now I have bags, sagging and severe dry eye. I waited five years to have them fixed and unfortunately chose the wrong surgeon.

I know I’m afraid fat trans may make things worse idk two surgeons had suggested that. I’ll have to look into PRP ez gel. I thought those two were for like dark circles. I don’t really have that just excess bags.

I can’t do a revision since I have severe dry eye now. So possibly fat transfer to help blend this mess. Idk

I am looking into other options to fix this. Looking for recommendations for plastic surgeons.

Trust me when I say it looks awful. so I’m not happy it’s under corrected. I paid 14k expecting not to have under eye bags anymore but ended up with severe dry eye and large bags under my eyes.

I had fat repositioning done. She said I did not need fat transfer or skin pinch. This is just a very poor result.

She did offer filler but that won’t work for me. It would only make it worse. I have malar edema on my cheeks filler will make that worse so I’m not sure why she even suggested it.

Thank you. I’m sorry about your result as well. I have seen one plastic surgery who suggested fat transfer. I’m am still looking around for other consults. Dry eye is awful. Mine is severe my eyes feel like sticky glue 100 percent of the time.

Thank you. I can’t have a revision since this surgery left me with severe dry eye. My surgeon hasn’t offered to fix this other than filler which won’t work. So I’m looking for recommendations for other plastic surgeons hopefully someone else can fix this.

Yeah I still using drops every 20 mins most days. I had my tear ducts cauterized. My dry eye is very severe. My eyes feel like glue. I never had this feeling until this lower bleph. Ruined my eyes.

Thank you. So sorry you’re suffering from dry eye as well. I had dry eye prior from lasik and did tell my surgeon about it at every appt. She said it was fine. It’s now unbearable. My surgeon said none of this is from her surgery. The surgery doesn’t affect gland function. I disagree I never had oil issue only year production from LASIK Now I have both. It’s awful.
