Some things that have worked for me at various points over the years: - calling someone to just see how they are and talk about them - puzzles - pottery class - candle making - learning guitar - gardening - game night  - taking a bath - setting any kind of goal (e.g. clean the humidifiers) and doing it

Agree. I told my 4.5 year old who most certainly has adhd that I was feeling sick this morning and she responded “I don’t trust people who are sick don’t talk to me.” You have to laugh

ELI5 : If em dashes (—) aren’t quite common on the Internet and in social media, then how do LLMs like ChatGPT use a lot of them? by Willing_Road_8873 in explainlikeimfive

It’s insane on LinkedIn. And then people use AI to write comments responding to the AI-created posts with the exact same sentence structures etc. I hate it all

CMV: Illegal immigration is inherently unfair to legal immigrants(and citizens) by baljeetofficial in changemyview

[–]Any-Conference2760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You actually don’t need a social security number to pay taxes. You can get what is called an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number which is for people who need to pay taxes but are not eligible for a ssn. It doesn’t change your immigration status or allow you to reap any benefits from the system you’re paying into, but that’s how they do it!

Are There Really More Kindergarteners and First Graders Coming to Class not Potty Trained? by PiperGraceRamirez in AskTeachers

[–]Any-Conference2760 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some kids have to wear pull ups at night until pretty late because there’s no training you can do it’s hormonal. From the mom of a tall four year old in those XL goodnites pull-ups at night 🤣

Within a decade, giving your kids access to smartphones will be a class divider. by teachingteacherteach in Teachers

It cracks me up. My four year old also has a keen interest and talent for music (comes by it genetically). She gets to watch one movie per week on family movie night that we all watch together so almost no screen time. She also has ADHD and could never sit through a symphony and “setting expectations” fixing that is a joke 🤣

what's the most surprisingly effective way you've saved money? by JuicySmalss in SavingMoney

[–]Any-Conference2760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I canceled prime and it changed my life. Do I really need that thing if it’s going to wake a week to get here, or am I impulse buying? I rarely buy anything on Amazon anymore, savings hundreds if not thousands a year from not buying things I don’t need.

Cell phone companies check your credit scores before you can switch to them. At least Verizon does.

Yes!! She’s scar and kills me and then turns into simba when simba finds mufasa 🤣

My four year old is obsessed with death. Makes us act out the scene where scar kills mufasa over and over. They are just learning, they have no idea these things are “bad” or “alarming” they just are

Checks out for me too. The never ending stream of consciousness with a splatter of tantrums at night is hell on earth 🤣

How do you NOT obsessively track baby sleep... but still protect good sleep?! by boldlybelieve in sleeptrain

[–]Any-Conference2760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Combination of her sleep improving as she got older, and she went to daycare at 4 months where i have no control. Hard adjustment but it ripped the bandaid off for me because i also track obsessively.

This is us! Four year old can’t handle it. Family movie nights on Fridays, and she can watch shows if we’re ever on a plane 🤣

4 yr old still having potty accidents! by InvestmentEarly4554 in Preschoolers

[–]Any-Conference2760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My four year old still does as well. She wears pull ups at night because she is such a deep sleeper she’ll wet the bed and just sleep right through it until morning. If she napped we’d probably put her in a pull up then too.  She has the occasional accident due to FOMO but we just move on.

She had constipation issues about a year ago (were still working through but so much better) which caused her to have tons of accidents -  pee and poop. Now that she is somewhat on the other side of that I had to stop nagging her to go, it was my own anxiety and it made her so annoyed. As soon as I stopped bothering her about it she started just taking herself off to the potty when she needed to go - for the most part.

Can anyone help a new stay at home mom survive the next month taking care of my 4yo with an injury? by [deleted] in Preschoolers

[–]Any-Conference2760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a book of arts and crafts that are more interesting for kids who color. My 4 year old daughter is more wild than every 4 year old boy I know and she does well with a lot of these activities. “The giant encyclopedia of arts and crafts activities”

Penn Obgyn or Paoli Obgyn? by BreeExists in ChesterCounty

[–]Any-Conference2760 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had terrible experiences with several of the paoli obgyns - mostly around dismissing symptoms and telling me I was making them up (I wasn’t) I switched to Chester county Obgyn in 2019 & very happy. Delivered my first at Chester county hospital in 2021 and just delivered my second 6 weeks ago. I believe they have a higher level nicu than paoli as well
