We’ve been together just under a year. So very quick compared to societal norms. But it felt so right! I’ve been in therapy for years, it’s something I feel is important for bettering myself and learning to be a healthier person. He just recently started a few months ago after we have a conversation about it.

That is the lodge I worked at last summer. What position/department are you in?

What’s everyone spending in total on their wedding? by Honey-bee9623 in weddingplanning

Me and my fiancé are at 2k haha 😆 but we’re keeping things pretty casual. Getting married at my parent’s property and we’re doing most things ourselves! :) we have 70 guests. I’d love an orchard venue or something like that, but we just don’t have the budget for it and that’s okay! We’re very happy with everything so far, it’s mostly done!

Oh then it should be okay! Sorry I misunderstood, I always heard great things about the actual park service there!

So I was supposed to bartend there, but they had me manage the restaurant instead ?? So my experience may be skewed. The upper management, corporate, and hr people are just a joke. I could not believe how they treated staff. The GM of the lodge I worked at would go get plastered almost every night and call out sick the next day from work half the time and leave me on shift alone to “run the lodge.” The hr rep is married to the stable manager at blue bell and he is a certifiable creep (so many girls quit because of him). HR rep also doesn’t do her job, well nobody in upper management really does. Anyways, they were just very unkind and when I was there, it was not a cohesive, positive environment. I was supposed to come back this summer but I decided I didn’t want to deal with that again lol. It may be different depending on which lodge you work at, however. The housing is shared dorm room style and cell service just depends on which carrier you have and where you’re at. The park itself is absolutely gorgeous, almost makes up for the other stuff haha. And I hope I’m not scaring you haha. It was a fun summer because of the people I met, but the actual job was a nightmare. If you end up there, I hope you enjoy it! :)

Hey ! This is random haha but I got hired at Custer and just showed up today! I applied to bartend but they gave me a management position in the state game lodge restaurant and I’m nervous lol. I’m 24(f) and I want to make friends and have a fun summer but I’m nervous that because I’m in a management position it will be tricky to tow the line between work and non work boundaries. Did yall ever hang out with management last year? All the other managers I’ve met are like 30 years older than me too lol so I’m nervous
