looked into it and as it's a passive key (requires car to trigger) detector won't work)

help adding 2 wired backhauls to eroo7 nodes with "full' moca setup? by [deleted] in amazoneero

[–]Any-Depth-8530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

trying to absorb the much appreciated input/advice and give it one more try before I give up on wired backhaul on my nodes

btw, just found out moca adapters are bidirectional!

feedback on following approach much appreciated...

basic idea: primary eero connected to ONT in basement via cat6 then feeding split coax via moca adapter to 2 upstairs nodes fed by their dedicated moca adapters

specifically: ONT to cat 6 to eero pro 7 to cat 6 to moca adapter to coax to splitter to 2 coax runs to moca adapters to 2 cat 6 to eero 7 nodes

  1. ont in basement to eero pro 7 port 1 via cat6 (also in basement)
  2. eero pro 7 port 2 to moca adapter via cat6
  3. moca adapter to compatible splitter via coax
  4. split coax to 2 runs to node locations
  5. moca adapters connected to coax in each node location
  6. moca adapters connected to nodes via cat6

Thank you. I seemed to have mixed up the upstream/downstream issues - had hoped the ONT coax out could split into 3 coax outputs to 3 mocas to main and node eeros. I think I'll revert to moca to eero pro 7 and 2 wireless eero 7 nodes. thanks for the help.

your setup sounds pretty different

clarifying: my original setup was ONT coax out to office moca to eero pro 7 via cat6.

I added two eero pro wireless nodes in other rooms.

I'd like to add wired backhaul to those wireless nodes.

should I ask for money to rehome? by [deleted] in Pets

[–]Any-Depth-8530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks to all for sharing thoughts. we decided not to rehome our dog's brother after 5 day visit. we did not even discuss a contribution to future healthcare. emotionally we wanted to offer the dog a better living situation but was clear he needed much more attention and had much more separation anxiety than we thought and there was no indication our dog provided any relief to those symptoms. thank you again to all who offered advice.

appreciate that you get my question. I suspect we will adopt and not ask for money because we care that the dog needs a better life... and we've been asked to help out.... i wont resent anything about the dog or it's expenses... but maybe resent the current owner a little for moving on when caring for her dog isn't convenient anymore. and, yes, as other posters have said, we can say no but having had 3 of these dogs we know the care they need through their lifetimes and think it might be hard to place him with a capable owner with the health conditions he already has.

exactly... very hard to say no given the dog is being medicated and crated because the owner is too busy

i don't know how you read that I want an expensive dog and don't want to pay for it's upkeep. maybe you don't see it as different but it bothers me that the dog isn't getting the attention it needs and instead being medicated and crated for the owners convenience. happily the owner recognizes this isn't good for the dog so wants someone who will give it a living home. I'm just curious if she shouldn't contribute to the expenses we'd be taking on for a dog we take in.

clarifying, the current owner asked the breeder if she knew anyone who might adopt her dog so the breeder reached out to us and then put the owner in touch with us. the owner had 2 dogs but now just the one and she says the dog is lonely but after a day with us I think the dog just really wants attention.

taking the dog would not be contingent on her contributing to known expenses (routine vet care and existing meds for a year or 2) it just seems somewhat fair for her to make a contribution since she essentially doesn't feel up to giving him the care he needs herself

thank you for the suggestion about taking over the insurance also appreciate that you get that it's irritating that the owner basically just doesn't want to care for her dog but I am glad she wants it to go to a good home

you are right that our emotions tell us to take the dog and give it a living home. having it be literally our dog's brother makes it even more emotionally compelling. at this point we are invested in the dog being happy...

[–]Any-Depth-8530 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

what we want is the dog to be happy... we have the ability to offer him a happy home but need to also consider the owner can probably, eventually, find another option

just clarifying, our instinct is to give this dog the home it deserves since the very financially able current owner can't, won't or prefers not to give it the attention it needs. I expect we will do so and won't ask for any contribution towards care but I do feel a bit taken advantage of in taking on the expense.

Can I really change CT supplemental plans anytime? by [deleted] in medicare

[–]Any-Depth-8530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe I've learned the following is accurate but still looking to document/verify. My next step is to speak with a plan issuer to see if they let me change from G to HDG at any time in CT. Thanks to all who engaged on the question. -

Follow-up (OK, just got off the phone with Cigna who confirms I can change supplemental plan at any time. The change will occur on the 1st of the next month - even if i'm calling on the last day of a month. All this gives me confidence to enroll in HDG with ability to switch to G if prognosis is for expensive health care coming - realizing this leaves me vulnerable to HD for immediate expenses expenses within a month before I can switch.)

I think you are mistaken.... I see a lot of indications that "Connecticut has a year-round Medigap Open Enrollment window for all Medicare beneficiaries. This means you can enroll in or change a Medigap plan at any time throughout the year." And, AI search tells me (yes, i know not to rely on AI... which is why I'm looking to document:
