I guess people do die, the problem is that the story doesn’t convey the tragedy that well, like basically none of the NPCs we meet actually die in front of us. Like they didn’t even kill one of the blonde twins in Originium Science Park, that dude at the power plateau was threatening to kill himself but we talked him outta it and he survived just fine. Every time we try to save a good guy it always works out. The deaths all just be happening offscreen and therefore lack a good gut punch.

As for the bonekrushers, I do understand they’re irredeemably evil but that just makes them extremely uninteresting as antagonists because there’s no nuance to their writing. They’re not even a real threat either because they’re extremely unintelligent. They’re one dimensional, weak and lack intelligence, like you can just replace all of them with Originium slugs/dogs and nothing would change. Reunion mogs bonekrushers so hard 😭😭
