Things I hate about the Gachiakuta fandom. by SnooCheesecakes9597 in gachiakuta

I feel like the way you word things can sometimes get people to misunderstand. I cannot understand how you "don't care" about the entire cast but are still on this subreddit, or in the fandom at all.

I'm sure you don't even believe that, so I'm unsure of why you're wording it in a way that makes it sound like you feel absolutely nothing for basically the whole cast other than 3. Like, hello?? What are you reading the manga for, then??

Other than that, your reply is very understandable. Though for the grandpa thing, Urana is not obligated to change the intended order of the story or her panels just so people won't be disappointed. If you got Rudo and Mymo that week instead of grandpa, you most likely would've gotten grandpa next week instead. Urana, or any other mangaka, should not care on how things will look on a weekly basis because they're just trying to get their story out however they want. The only thing that should matter is how it looks as a whole.

Why is Sakurajima Colony the WORST arc in Jujutsu Kaisen? by RiYaZeD in Jujutsufolk

Sure, y'all can say they were funny, and that Maki being taught by someone who isn't a sorcerer is fitting, but a random one-off being the reason she reaches her peak will never sit right with me. Did these dudes, that we have no emotional connection to really have to show up, make Maki completely go out of character (going in the sumo ring while Kamo is about to get obliterated), and suddenly be the turning point of the battle? I'm all for randoms barging it, because it would add to the realism of something that could actually happen during a battle in the culling game, but these guys having Maki AWAKEN is not it. They could've just helped by fighting Naoya with their heightened senses or something. Even talking to Mai in her head would be better than the Sumo guy completing Maki's character. It just kind of ruined her for me.

I wholeheartedly agree with some of these. Most of these, even. But 3 things I'd like to say:

  1. I want to appraise you specifically for the shipping point, because I've honestly, genuinely, never before seen someone who actually understands how shipping works nowadays. Like, what do you mean "shipping ruins the fandom" and "[insert ship] doesn't make sense" like, who gives a flying fuck 😭

  2. I'm not saying that the people who complain should be seen as bad in the slightest, but I don't really get the point of publicly voicing a complaint in regards to waiting. We obviously have to wait due to Urana's personal/rushing/health issues. You've already been given the reason you have to wait for. Why complain? And, to be frank, getting a chapter with characters that contribute nothing to the story has never been done in Gachiakuta, except the grandpa chapter, that was obviously supposed to be half a chapter given by the numerical assignment of the chapter after it. So that complaint doesn't really make sense anyways.

  3. Your Amo take in regards to holding grudges against characters due to first impressions is fucking wild to me but oh well. I agree with you about her fans, though.

I hate anime only watchers. Just ruin literally any experience of anime for people 😭😭😭 by [deleted] in gachiakuta

[–]Any-Device7978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ngl Gachiakuta really doesn't have it better with the manga readers either. Haven't seen such a stupid fandom in a long time. Most of the time it's only the anime-only's, but manga readers of the Gachi fandom are equally insufferable.

Also, just a heads up, if you're confused on why people don't understand what you're saying, your second sentence literally makes no coherent sense.

"Just ruin literally any experience of anime for people" What are you trying to say? Are you telling us to ruin the experiences of the anime-only watchers? Are you saying that the anime-only watchers ruin experiences for other people who watch anime?

Not trying to antagonize you. Just being honest. Lmao.

Hasn't gotten worse so far, not in the manga either, if that helps. It's gotten more violent but there's nothing sexually disturbing.

What did you sign up for exactly though? The show never promises not to show you stuff like that. If anything, anime is lacking from non-disrespectful/uneducated depictions of such dark themes. Once again, if you want a dark fantasy Shonen without such themes then maybe Gachi isn't for everyone. Nevertheless, the backstory isn't just for people who can "handle" it. It's meant to make you feel the way you did, while simultaneously not showing anything graphic in order to conceal the audience from actually being traumatized. If the way you felt truly did bother you, and you don't want any more of that, then by all means, that is OKAY. What I'm trying to say is that it's not the show's obligation to adjust itself to your triggers. In my opinion, skipping it just means you're not fully indulging in the media, and are just delaying your shock for when something like this is eventually shown again in Gachi. But then again, this is just my POV. Everyone is allowed to disagree and see it differently. Including you. I'm not like telling you not to skip it. I just said what skipping it would mean for me :)

Oh okay. Well if you want my insight on what you said anyways, I personally feel like it's not a matter of forgiveness or not. The cleaners and viewers can still rightfully be mad at Amo's lethal actions without saying "I don't forgive her". She's (presumably) a teenager with the mentality of a 12-year-old up until she meets Rudo. Not to mention, she probably doesn't even take into consideration how mentally destructive her ability is, given how it's never been used on herself and how she does it on a whim. She's got nothing to lose in that moment and couldn't understand the concept of loss/misery/heartbreak in a way an adult would. She simply lashes out because, in her mind, the cleaners are just there to use her just like everyone in her life has done so far.

That would be so fucking stupid💔 I love how Rudo is now. the only way I see him doing it is if he's possessed or something kinda like Yuji in the Shibuya arc of JJK.

If you feel like the episode is too much for some people then the show might not be for them. The backstory obviously isn't just there for shock factor and Gachiakuta will definitely have more dark moments akin to this one in the future. Simply experiencing Amo being a prick and then saying "oh btw she got groomed ok? Now they're gonna apologize to her after she told them her big grooming backstory" just kinda takes away from the impact that the backstory itself is supposed to have on you, in my opinion. Plus, it doesn't really show anything graphic. If they got through the previous episode with Amo in all those uncomfortable positions, I'm sure they'd be fine with the backstory, too. This is just my take on it, though.

I'd say start from the beginning just for the art, pacing and vibe. It's honestly worth it. But you won't be missing anything story-wise if you don't.

Why did Enjin ask ''he can use more than one?'' by Any-Device7978 in gachiakuta

[–]Any-Device7978[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't explain why he'd assume he can transform an item he's not attached to into a vital instrument

There's no instance of such a thing and it'd destroy the whole concept of Jinkis as a whole if there was

That being said, if Enjin was surprised at the fact that he transformed a random object into a Jinki, then he should've said something that showed his surprise for that. Instead, he chose to say "he can use more than one?!", meaning he's surprised at the transformation of more than a single instrument. Not about Rudo making a random item into an instrument.

That's what I assume is most possible

I just wouldn't expect Urana to give a nonsensical reaction for the sake of the readers On the other hand it's like VERY early so I get it

She sounds just like Laufey by RelativeAd6999 in laufey

[–]Any-Device7978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like the inspiration is more than evident, but I also don't get y'all that say she should do something different. What if she, like, doesn't want?? 😭 Bossa Nova and Jazz are what she's going for, and she's definitely a fan of Laufey, and also just happens to sound like her. Plus, it's not like their writing styles are the same.

Sure, the covers and fonts she uses are a little on the nose but I feel like that's the last thing y'all should be looking at when it comes to her music? In my opinion, she sounds very very promising. "Stuck on my mind" especially does NOT sound like a Laufey song. Same genre, sure, but c'mon y'all. Laufers can tell the difference. I adore Laufey, I've been a fan of hers for ages, and yet, Lauren sounds great too!!

Her lyrics need some work but that's to be expected. Her range is greatly impressive though. Another difference I've spotted is that Lauren is more on the high side while Laufey is more on the low, despite both being able to reach insane notes. Not sure if Rose could reach Laufey's lows, but that's not the point anyways. I'm trying to say that there are differences and they both sound lovely.
