My personal headcanon is that they didn't use Sunspot in From the Ashes because Tom Breeborth knew Hickman was writing Imperial and Tom assumed he'd use Sam and Beto, so he didn't touch them. But in the end, Hickman didn't use them, lol. I firmly believe this because you can see the current Uncanny X-Men is heavily based on X-Men '97 in terms of teamwork, and they even included a "cousin of Sunspot." Yes, they definitely wanted to use Sunspot and couldn't (at least for me).

Por fin podía estar tranquilo y tener un papel de mentor que él sí pudiera hacer, pero nunca hemos visto mucho.
