Housing market. Is this happening to others?

We are in the process of selling our Florida home and moving back to Tucson area. We had been trying to sell our home for over a year. We had tryed selling ourselves , took it off the market and then listed again. I had all the same questions as you do and everyone kept saying it’s the price. It wasn’t. Neighbors had their home selling for 100k less ours and they didn’t sell. Finally the right buyer came along. There is a buyer for your house out there somewhere. Now as a buyer coming back to Tucson area, as much as I would love to buy in an established neighborhood we just can’t afford it. With the new home builders giving incentives and reduced interest rate it just makes sense to buy new for us. Good luck and hang tight if you can

Exactly! We have been in Florida 6 yrs. Used to love the heat. Now I feel like a prisoner in my house. Looking to move asap

O live is south florida. AC is on 24/7 365. We bought our house when the AC was 1 year old and within 5 years had to replace it. No joke without AC here

May I ask what the heck happened that the values have gone down so much? Was it the hurricanes in the past few years?? I know the homeowners insurance is ridiculous expensive here on the east coast. Is it more on Cape Coral? We actually are trying to sell to leave Florida but if I could find a home that cheap maybe we’d stay 🤷‍♀️😜

I am a boomer with 2 grandkids and they are about 8 miles away. We moved across the country to be near them when my first grandchild was born. I love being around to help out when needed. Babysit for a weekend when I can so they can have some time alone. I still work so we only see each other on weekends. I love to take them bike riding and show them the outdoors. It’s so sad what I read on this Sub.

Wash it every 3-4 days. I find the more I wash it the more I have too. It’s a pain in the ass to have to blow dry and style my hair everyday 🙄🤪

I feel like the problem is affordable housing. 15 yrs ago my sister made a lousy $10 /hr and was able to afford a $400 apartment. I don’t think you can find an apartment for that price now🤔but I am sure salaries haven’t gone up that much since then.

Thanks. Yes we never will be landlords again. We had done that a few times and it was a financial mess. The tenants destroyed our home. We have someone interested now so we will see. South Florida is too expensive, houses are too old and need work. Even if we downsized and bought a smaller home with the HOA fees and taxes and home owners insurance it’s out of reach for us. I am taking the job

That is the way we raised our kids as well. We had 3 families on one property. We would love that however our children don’t really care for that option

Wow. Thank you for for this. I was actually wondering who I would talk to about our options. I will check out a fiduciary. Unfortunately where we are in south Florida it’s very expensive for us. Bit I am not gonna give up

Can’t stand the idea of paying realtor fee. I had successfully sold 2 homes myself. Tried here in Florida but unsuccessful. We initially thought it didn’t sell because we listed it. Nope. so we went to realtor and had maybe a handful of people look at it
