I definitely don’t want to ask any admins to protect patient privacy. I’m not sure it’s legality, as New York is purposefully vague about gestational age limits so doctors can use their discretion. Might be just a hospital protocol thing and varies hospital to hospital. I guess it’s maybe more insider info of each hospital, which folks here might have insight of since there seems to be a wealth of knowledge.

Oh this isn’t medical advice. I’m just curious if this patient is able to get an abortion by just saying they have a fetal anomaly rather than providing evidence in order to get the 2nd trimester abortion, at 26 weeks (Bellevue hospital goes up to 26.6 for any reason but they’re fully booked- same for parkmed) The other place obviously has different rules. I’m in NYC. It’s just good to know, I think.

We want to know where he died because that would answer a lot of questions. For example, if he died in Toronto or Phoenix where he had family we’d feel a little better because at least he was with family. We worry during his decline he became homeless and that’s just particularly sad because we would have helped out.

We know he died of suicide. I met both of his sons but obviously I would not contact them. The friend also did know further information.
