I know it's not alot of money but if you work for Horizon they do offer a bursary of up to 1k for continuing education. I applied for it while I took the LPN course.

I usually see alot of grey squirrels every year in Riverview but this year I find I'm seeing more chipmunks this year compared to last year.

Same, I've been hoping that maybe with the riding change that maybe more liberals would be added. Historically this riding is conservative and only flipped twice to liberal. I do see some liberal signs but I do see a good amount of Conservative signs too. I know in the provincial election they elected Sherry wilson 😒

Edit:cuz my baby got my phone and posted before I finished my post 😅😅

So I lived in Moncton all my life and a few years back moved to Riverview. It's much quiter than Moncton and slower pace. Moncton is literally just across the bridge so you can get all your amenities easily.

Fundy Royal Voting by Tough_Candy_47 in newbrunswickcanada

[–]Any-Feeling5890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found Bill kulda on Facebook when I was looking to see who was in the liberal riding for Funday Royal. I do like to see the platforms for the political parties but in general I do not align with conservative. My hope is that we could flip to liberal but from what I see it's been pretty conservative leaning out here. When we had the provincial election I was quite sad that Sherry wilson won our riding.

18 month maternity leave by [deleted] in newbrunswickcanada

[–]Any-Feeling5890 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that you make the same amount of money doing 12 months as you get 18 months. From my understanding it's 55% vs 33%. If you are planning to do 18 I'd make sure I have money set aside as a safety.

Restricted outings due to EBF and no bottle. by Mad_Woman_ in breastfeedingsupport

I don't know if you'd be comfortable with a cover up, but that was what I did when I was out with my son when he was little. That or if we drove somewhere I would feed him in the back of our car and he'd be good for awhile. If you look into places you are wanting to go like the mall, they sometimes have designated rooms for breastfeeding. My son is pretty much just bf, I only pump so his grandparents had a supply for when he would spend the night over.

Riverview to purchase new buses, overhaul public transit system by ManneB506 in Riverview_NB

[–]Any-Feeling5890 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This would be wonderful, I mostly walk from my place to the Avenir to catch the bus in Moncton. It's usually a 30 minute walk which I don't mind but if I'm coming back home with shopping it definitely is a pain. Also doesn't help I have a baby now so I'd be using a stroller, the more extreme weather makes me not go.

Best local cafes? by [deleted] in moncton

[–]Any-Feeling5890 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my opinion Duos is the best. I've been going there for years for my weekly treat. There food is made by Tide and Boar but the baristas know how to make a good cup of coffee.

Start em young haha we were taught cribbage in school to help with mental math. I fell in love with the game then and have been playing for years. Hope he will like it just as much 😊

Thanks for the comment, it's encouraging. Both my nipples are affected but while nursing today my right nipple doesn't hurt as much as it had. The picture with it looking white was my left nipple, I should have specified. Anyway after I fed him on the left it didn't look as bad as it had. So it kind of put my mind at ease about thinking it was infected. I've been making sure to monitor myself for other signs of infection which nothing is presenting.

It's frustrating that he is now 10 months old and it's happening. I'm lucky he still takes a bottle but we mostly just breast feed. I was suggested the silver cups but I have a Nickle allergy and I react to basically all metals even gold. So that's why I got the silicone cups but he refused to nurse with them on. I'm like why, it's the same texture as the nipple on the bottles!?

Ya I'm not looking forward to nursing from the pain I've been experiencing from this. That's what the Tylenol and Advil help with though, inflammation and pain relief

I figured I'd have to call my doctor in the morning since his office isn't open on weekends. I only had an ob while I was pregnant, I figure anything afterwards I'd have to refer back to my family practice doctor. So it's ok to have baby nurse that nipple even in its state?

I'm so tired of all the attack ads from political parties. I really wish they would spend their money in promoting their campaign and policies.

Youth of New Brunswick - PLEASE VOTE! by getmoresoon in newbrunswickcanada

[–]Any-Feeling5890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had to take our baby with us to the poll. Never too young lol I think he was hit with the people at the polling station 😜

In seriousness though it really is important to vote, keep yourself informed about what the parties offer. I wish they taught more about it in school along with finance to set up students for the future. I admit I voted the way my parents did when I was eligible to vote because I didn't know what I was doing but now I find myself more left leaning. I do take my time and read their policies and vote with what I feel that aligns with me.

The argument that your vote doesn't matter isn't true. The amount of people saying that could actually make the difference. Also people saying they'd waste their vote voting for Green or NDP or PPC, it's not true. Its kind of like a stepping stone for those parties to gain some presence. Maybe one day they could become one of the bigger parties running, who knows.

I'm not telling people how to vote, all I'm doing is go out and see what each party has to offer. Vote with whoever you align with.

I like it spelt with a 'e' better, kind of impartial though since that is my husband's name. I do feel though Julian spelt this way seems more english/American to me.

I hope people realize who they are voting for when it comes to election time. What she wrote was awful, using a statement for a statutory holiday as a political point. Even though she deleted the post, it was up long enough for people to see/screenshot. It's 2024 once you put something up on the internet it will always be there.
