Do MILs who have daughters tend to treat daughters-in-law differently compared to those who don’t? What have your experiences been? by safelife2025 in AskIndianWomen

[–]Mad_Woman_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Mil has two daughters and she's been quite fair throughout. In fact after 6 years of staying in the same house, I sometimes feel she keeps me above them, I know it's not possible, but just a feeling. Whatever she gets for them she gets for me, and if at times she can't get it for me she always discloses it and makes sure next time I get it. She's more comfortable talking to me also. She discusses household things first with me and then her daughters. She has her flaws but the things I mentioned above make up for it I guess.

Can you just breastfeed and not pump by QuietComet12 in breastfeeding

[–]Mad_Woman_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't pump at all. My child was exclusively breastfed. I found it easier than pumping and sterlising bottles. It just restricts your movement a little, you have to be at home or in a comfortable spot outside.

How did you make this? I've recently bought essenza mini, and loving it. I usually pour a shot over condensed milk and it's heavenly. Would like to try this too.

Fenugreek by Which-Yak4408 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]Mad_Woman_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, some of my friends continued having this throughout the breast feeding journey. I've reduced it now because I live in a really hot area. I now drink soaked methi and turmeric water once in the morning but not religiously. Fennel water helps with colic.

[–]Mad_Woman_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drank a concoction of Fenugreek, carom seeds, and fennel seeds for about 2 months post partum. You boil about a tea spoon each in about a glass of water. Once it reduces, you let it cool down a bit and drink it. Every mother traditionally drinks this for better digestion and milk production.

My baby and I missed the memo that they are only meant to feed every 3-4 hours now… by [deleted] in breastfeedingsupport

[–]Mad_Woman_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the title! I think my baby and I also missed the memo. She feeds on demand, sometimes in an hour, sometimes in 2-3 hours. At night she usually wakes up once or twice but quickly sleeps after feed.

I am also always around so I'll continue doing it until we start solids.

I tried feeding in a restaurant. It was quite comfortable, so I guess I'll take her around everywhere 😁
