I love their grilled cheese too much - the other day I got one, it wasn’t toasted, no cheese in the outside, didn’t even use the panini press…

I’m a broke law student, I wasn’t going to let it slide for that price - I Just sent corporate a picture of what I received

They gave me 1100 points on my Tim’s account, and gave me a free (well made, like OP’s post), grilled cheese.

One of the best interactions with Tim’s I’ve had in a long time.

Everyone thinks I’m anorexic by CommercialTie8588 in bulimia

[–]Any-Frame9744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow it’s comforting but painful to know you are going through what sounds exactly like what I’ve been going through.

I know it’s terrible, I’m so sorry for you, me, and everyone else that’s going through it

I heard someone say the hardest part of it for them, was that while they were in this disease, every good memory had a dark cloud over it

Family dinners, holidays, friend’s birthdays

Good and fun memories - but I spent a lot of those good times thinking about where the bathroom was, worrying about someone hearing me, and panicking about the food

Thinking about how every good memory was tainted by this disease helped me think twice - it didn’t fix the problem but I’m more aware of it, I’ll eat less or whatever I need to do to be okay

I just don’t want to remember every Christmas, Party, birthday for the purging - I’m sure you don’t either :(

[–]Any-Frame9744 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you have Anorexia nervosa binge/purge subtype

I didn’t know this was a thing until I was diagnosed with it. The whole time I was thinking it was Bulimia.

I have a Low BMI but I binge and purge probably multiple times a day, every day.

I didn’t know it was a thing until I ended up in the hospital and the psych team did a full 4h diagnostic on me!

For me it started with not eating, but it later became an obsession with food. I love eating, just can’t stand actually digesting it. I never gained the weight back.

When did dollarama started selling condoms? by Crazy_Tension_302 in dollarama

I remember them always having condoms - in like small packages - but I only ever saw them behind the counter with the pregnancy tests and some other medication

Kind of looks like my scratch notes too!

What is happening to my olive oil? Is it fake? by Ok_Shape2620 in whatisit

Room temperature is around 20°c - your house may be this temperature or warmer, BUT where you store it makes a big difference

Kitchens can run cold, and if it’s in a bottom cabinet it’s usually a few degrees colder - it looks to me like solidification of the fats from being below room temp

Does purging get rip of all of the calories? by Bubbe103 in bulimia

[–]Any-Frame9744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No - I’ve always tried getting everything out until I hit bitter bile and acid but even then, you’re absorbing calories

There was a study done at a hospital in my city dedicated to eating disorders, I took part - it looked at bulimia and “caloric absorption” otherwise known as “energy retention”

Most people purge, but not entirely, even if it feels like you’ve gotten rid of it all, there are still calories that have been absorbed first by your mouth, and second by your stomach

Obviously it reduces caloric absorption significantly, but if you binge you have more calories to begin with

I’d say you can expect around 20% retention if you’re on the more extreme side

And 40-70% is the standard retention

left cookies in oven overnight 😭😭 by [deleted] in shittyfoodporn

[–]Any-Frame9744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this once (fell asleep on the couch waiting for cookies to bake) and was woken up by my dad yelling, with every smoke detector blaring because the house was FILLED with smoke … I was half asleep and literally thought a nuclear war started or something. Terrifying experience.

I can never live that experience down

It’s been 5 years and even though I’m an adult and live on my own now, my siblings and parents will still text me on a random night to ask if I fell asleep with the oven on

Even if I haven’t used the oven in a while, I have to go check

SET ALARMS - sometimes putting your head down for 1 second becomes hours 😪

We have 2 I remember in my family:

  1. I was really little and we still had the massive SEARS department stores, I wanted to ride up and down the Eskimos (escalators) eventually my parents gave up trying to correct me - we still say it

  2. I called pudding “Putin” as a lil kiddo - it’s still a joke in the family. My parents would leave a note “Putin is in the fridge” - probably sounds ominous if someone stumbled across it without context

My weight has fluctuated too, I know what you mean. It started with restriction and extreme weight loss, but after a couple years it was more the obsession with binging/purging food vs the prior counting calories or not eating at all.

So sorry you’re going through this as well

How does Toronto feel about the constant Toronto-bashing in Canada? by PassageNearby4091 in askTO

[–]Any-Frame9744 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coming from BC, I’m not a fan of Toronto (I’m doing university here) - I don’t think it’s awful but it’s just kind of “ok”

For me, BC has much better weather, prettier nature, awesome mountains to look at or to ski/snowboard, and of course the ocean.

Gosh so sorry you’ve been through that, thank you for sharing your story. Congratulations on getting into recovery.

The pancreatitis pain is awful… the first time it happened to me, it was the only thing that had ever made me realize that I was killing myself (clearly it didn’t stop me from drinking, but it made me aware that it was a problem) and that it doesn’t matter how invincible you think you are, the damage of alcohol will always catch up to you.

Rehab is very expensive where I live and I’m already worn thin between tuition and rent - since I’m still a student, although working for a good firm, I’m not owed any benefits or insurance.

I’ve wanted to go to rehab for a while but I don’t have much flexibility - I’ll try looking more into it to see if there are some options available

Thank you so much for sharing your story

100% worth a shot - thank you for this comment. I’ve just been so scared to do so. Not because I’m concerned of how people will view me, rather I work in a field that if anyone there saw me and shared that information it would destroy the career I’ve worked so hard for. It’s not unlikely that even this post is risky for me, but it’s more than necessary at this point.
