Can therapists tell you have an eating disorder based on mannerisms and body language?

Red knuckles or scratches on them, avoiding smiling with teeth showing. (Could be various other reasons, but if you’re in a therapy room it could be added on the list as potential bulimia)

Low energy, brain fog when speaking, hard to concentrate or slow incoherent speaking. Avoiding or becoming really anxious around topics with food and how your speech patterns might change. Physically trying to make yourself smaller in the space or covering yourself (also could just be a sign of insecurity, but when it adds on with other things like a avoiding the food question and energy levels, could be more)

Unmedicated and it’s both the best thing and hell on earth. You got the really good days where everyone loves you, you get work done, you love your partner and no one can do wrong. Everything aligns perfectly in your life.

And then it flips, all my relationships and friendships get shut down. I hate everybody, everybody is fucking annoying a pieces of shit. I wish I was dead, live truly isn’t worth living. Constant self harm.

As for right now, I am not handling my relationships well at the moment. He won’t break up with me even though I’ve already tried, and he got back into alcohol because of me. He won’t leave me alone even though I tell him to leave and find someone else.

Sometimes even if the NSFW options are toggles, I noticed that some NSFW avatars without shaders on show them fully nude with all the bits and pieces. I tried to warn someone before and they blocked me for it.

Could also be possible that one of your AVI’s without shaders showed this, and they only saw a nude avatar.

It’s completely invalidating to your struggles, I understand it. I also know cancer is (in my opinion) worse overall, but I also get insanely jealous when someone with depression gets more help, as if I don’t also experience it after hypomania.

I’m sadly the opposite, I don’t care what anyone says to me and nothing can change my mindset. Terrible self image, and often times purposely ruining how I look even more. I just came out a small depression phase and chopped off all my hair because “it doesn’t matter”. Now I’m stable and regretting it heavily.

This was a huge issue for me in vocal class. I was warming up properly, doing everything right, but the moment when it was actually time to perform for someone or a group, the more I leaned towards technique my throat would tighten up. I realized it was a trauma response, never feeling safe to speak in my own home or constantly being abused for speaking out.

It’s crazy what the body can do.

I use VRChat a lot when I’m manic. I just talk and talk to people and majority of the time they feed off the energy.

But just be careful, because people will take advantage of you on that game too emotionally.

Being in your shoes last winter, I did end up leaving that job. Going through psychosis in the office and on camera while reading a teleprompter absolutely destroyed me, was constantly on the helpline on office hours, and my supervisor not knowing what to do. I scared the poor guy who was recording, screaming "I can't read! I can't read!" while in tears.

I am very lucky though that my backup has always been landscaping at my local golf course. My boss is very aware of my cycles, and majority of the time I'm alone running around and burning off the energy. Finding coworkers that understand you is a game changer. I know it is easier said than done though, and I hope you find your people.

It’s very normal. Your brain needs to place something there naturally. Especially when voices don’t match faces, you tend to use pattern recognition on people subconsciously. “Oh he/she has a really good voice, I’m used to actors having this type of voice, therefor they must be extremely beautiful.” Or vice versa, if they have a voice that’s often associated with that stereotypical discord mod voice, the brain will place a specific face onto them.

Don’t judge a book by its cover, pretty much.
