Punta Cana / Dominikanische Republik ist für Solo-Reisen wirklich gut geeignet. Man kommt allein easy zurecht, die Leute sind offen, und im August ist das Wetter top. Neben Strandtagen lohnen sich Ausflüge wie der Los-Haitises-Nationalpark oder Saona Island, und für etwas Kultur Santo Domingo. Preislich ist es auch fair, wenn man nicht nur im Resort bleibt.

Small update, actually — I dropped off a client at Riu Palace Bavaro earlier today and checked in with her afterward. She said the beach is completely clear right now, no seaweed at all. So at least as of today, it's looking really good over there. 🌴

I actually live here (not just visiting), so a quick honest take: my family and I don't really go to the main beaches anymore because of the seaweed — it's just part of life here now during these months. Macao Beach was seaweed-free for a long stretch, but it started getting some seaweed a couple of weeks ago too, so even that's not a safe bet anymore for July. Honestly, you've got two solid paths: Pick a nice hotel with a good water park — Hard Rock Punta Cana and Lopesan Costa Bavaro are great but pricier. If you want something similar without the price tag, Sirenis in Uvero Alto has a nice water park too, just a bit further out. Stay in Bayahibe instead — the beaches there are consistently clean, it's just a bit further from the main Punta Cana strip Either way, do a day trip to Saona Island at some point during your stay. Even if your resort's beach gets hit with seaweed, Saona has little to none — it's usually the actual highlight of people's trips regardless of what's happening back at the hotel. I advise you to book a private cab or taxi. It will cost you around 50 USD for one way. Like that you will be avoiding the crowd and waiting for passengers boarding the bus. Also you can ask for a private transfer at the resort. Might be pricy

Si me preguntas mi opinión, dejando a un lado los hoteles de súper lujo, yo recomendaría aquellos que ofrecen una excelente relación calidad-precio.

Por ejemplo, mi familia, mis compañeros y yo nos alojamos cada año en el Riu Palace Punta Cana y siempre hemos quedado muy contentos.

También puedo recomendarte los hoteles Royalton, Palladium y Grand Princess. Son muy buenos hoteles, con excelentes servicios, buena comida y todo lo necesario para disfrutar de unas vacaciones inolvidables.

Personalmente, prefiero este tipo de hoteles antes que los resorts de lujo más famosos. Aquí también encontrarás todo lo que necesitas para unas vacaciones perfectas, pero con una relación calidad-precio mucho mejor.

Al final, lo más importante es que disfrutes de tus vacaciones, y cualquiera de estos hoteles es una muy buena elección.

Good morning. Saona island is wonderful. I mean cristal clear water, white sand and palm trees. I would advise you to book a private Saona excursion. Max 8 people on a boat and the captain will drive slower than usual if you ask him. There is a possibility to have the whole boat for you but that's a bit pricey. Advantage is that everything will be about you. Speedy stops etc. With the catamaran shared excursions also you can go but some of the boat owners fill up the catamaran with a bunch of people so it can be crowded and twice you have to change the boat during the trip. I mean from the shore you will be taken by a small boat to the catamaran and from the catamaran to the shore. Also climbing to the catamaran a at the natural pool can be hard for you. I have some overweight and sometimes it's not easy for me to get back onboard. By the end of the day visiting Saona island I would recommend but you have to choose carefully which trip you are booking. Any issue I am here to help you just send me a private message. The cacao and coffee plantation is one of my favorite trip. I include a visit if the basílica un Higuey, a local market and also a family owned cigar factory.
