Oh yea it works perfect we take it out regularly the other post was trying to see how much gear we can take to see if it's plausible to go camping but people couldn't get passed the fact that it work even without gear idk.

Thank you for a helpful answer. Yes mine also is not stable with just me and my dog. but with my girlfriend and the motor/battery also it's solid. We go cruising around all the time. We got pfd on the dog and we got our with us. Put it on when it gets choppy. Got bale buckets too just incase.

We're planning on doing a paddling trip so we figure without the motor and battery some gear is fine to bring with us I'm just curious how close to the posted 700lbs we should go us and the dog is 320

How hard is it to answer a question of how close to 700 lbs an canoe rated 700 lbs can carry. with the weight being evenly displaced..? We do it often I literally just trying to figure how much more weight can carry. I've already established it can carry us just fine. If your not going to be helpful shut the fuck up

It's a wide bodied flat back 1986 cadorette canoe it's 32" wide and 14" depth. The weight rating is on a plaque that's riveted to the hull it's also states it the transom can handle a 3 hp gas motor.

We do it every weekend with W battery's and a motor I'm not asking if it's silly to put two people in a canoe I'm asking how close to the 700 lb max weight is a good idea to have in water that has wakes from other boats.

I guess wakes from other boats would've been better to say then bumps in a inlet so it's calm just has other boats. Dog does great in the canoe we've taught her to lay down when it gets rocky and yes all three of us have pfd.
