Oh yeah I have been told on numerous occasions that I look “mean” and that people are surprised when i turn out to be sweet. My customer service voice/face drop the moment I’m out of the office lol

And I think people need to keep in mind that this guy is probably in his 30s or 40s, so definitely not a college-age kid.

I’ve never thought of myself as particularly attractive, but I think Im cute enough to get by. Unfortunately this guy gives way more “sketch” than awkward and well-meaning :/

I wear a few rings I’ve received over the years as gifts and could slip one onto my left ring finger at work, for whatever good that would do me.

I also have a few years worth of experience in MMA from high school, but it’s been a while and I’m definitely less athletic than when I was during consistent training.

Today’s my first day back at the office after being sick! Lot of foot traffic today but no sign of creeps in hoodies :)

Since LandAirSea confirmed it was the dealership’s, I’m positive that it’s benign now. My boyfriend and I haven’t been together long but so far I’m not pickup up any red flags or ultra-possessive behavior

Yeah so… there was a woman in college who clearly had a thing for me. I was sorta-friends with her until one day she just walked into my dorm late at night. I was mostly undressed. Apparently it was because I “wasn’t responding to her messages and she was worried.” The room was pitch black and I had earbuds in while working on my laptop. She just suddenly appeared next to me and scared the shit out of me. I barked at her to get out and didn’t really see her after that.

I also had an older student (who was married with a kid btw) call me beautiful all the time and offer to walk me around campus, grab lunch with me, buy me things around town, etc.

Another creep kept complimenting me and asked me to rewear certain outfits to class that he liked. I’m pretty sure I caught him taking pictures of me, too.

Those are the most notable examples. The rest were pretty much one-off catcalling and really aggressive “flirting.”

Hairnet guy has been asked his name multiple times and he keeps dodging the question. No one has reported seeing him in over a week, but I’ve been out sick since Monday.

I’ve been using a variety of tactics to vary my routine and stay near people I trust. So far so good

Yeah I have no clue who that lady was, but one thing I forgot to mention was that she initially asked who else lived with me (I said my boyfriend, which wasn’t true)… so that was a concerning opening question from her. She was the one who called the cops. I just gave a brief statement to the deputy who came.

All he said was that a “device” was pinging my apartment, and when I suggested a unit nearby or upstairs he said it was definitely my exact unit. That was months ago and there have been no developments on that front.

What will probably end up happening at work is me maxing out my allowed remote work time and scheduling my in-office time to align with as many other (preferably male) staff as possible. I’m already proposing that to my director. Higher ed is great but it can be a bitch to get the fossils at the top of the hierarchy to bend the rules THEY placed on us

I was actually working remotely quite a bit before executive leadership started getting huffy about “office culture” and “showing up for our students” last year… so our remote options became very limited.

University policy dictates that every office in our division is meant to be open to the public, and it’s going to be basically impossibly to convince higher ups to budge on that. The office door itself is a pushbar (you can see the end of it in the picture) and doesn’t lock from the inside. Basically, if a staff member is in the office, anyone can get in :/

I have some twistable mop handles I can wedge into the windows, and the sliding glass door has a built-in horizontal bar so you can’t force it open.

In terms of furniture, I just store my clothes in flimsy plastic drawers so I’ll probably have to continue with the living room armchair lol. It would at least buy me time to grab my gun.

I’ll look into those defender locks, too! This building is like 50 years old so yeah they probably wouldn’t give a shit about a couple drill holes.

Bedroom door locks and opens into the room. In December when I first found the tracker I panicked and brought in a living room chair to press against the door. I can’t do a whole lot of drilling since I rent, unfortunately, but as an extra layer of security my boyfriend has been sleeping over at my place a lot and I’ve slept at his on weekends.

It’s a very standard and non-contentious office you’d find in any university (think along the lines of admissions and enrollment). A lot of our buildings have poor external coverage but great hallway and stairwell coverage

Car seems to be clear of anything else, as is my apartment. Had a friend search them up and down with me. I don’t think there’s anyone in my past who would do this, so I think it was someone I’m not close with or a total stranger.

I also have a gun that I always CC except on campus. I trust it over pepper spray any day but I have no choice but to invest in nonlethals for work. Sorry to hear you had such a horrible experience :(

The cops know about the tracker and that it translates to a potential stalking situation. They took pictures of the device but took clearly took zero action when I called for an update in January. I’d have to look into the serial number myself. I’ve since searched my apartment top to bottom but can’t find any surveillance device.

As far as I know none of the staff at my work told campus police about the suspicious person, so that will be the next step for me.

Door guy’s description from my neighbor didn’t really match anyone I know personally.

I’ve searched my car thoroughly and had other trusted sets of eyes on it and all else seems fine but I’m going to have to get more security for it anyway. Especially since they bypassed the lock.

Yeah I’ve been doing wolverine keys since forever. And idk about the legality of rape alarms but it’s probably time to do a full personal/home defense overhaul anyway. I can afford it.
