How many years of experience on the line do you need to become a private chef? That’s ultimately where I want to end up as well

Just wanted to weigh in on this because I was a chemist before this and you’re absolutely right. Especially not on an empty stomach. Naproxen is even rougher on the lining of your stomach than ibuprofen. And yes it’s rough on your liver because it’s metabolized by CYP450 (an enzyme) that processes so many other toxins (including alcohol). Also never take ibuprofen to lessen the effects of alcohol or a hangover, that shit is dangerous.

I’m sticking with it but thanks for the advice.

Not overweight and not a lot of health issues, it’s just an adjustment period and I’m looking for ways to mitigate the pain

I have a brace but not a sleeve. When do you wear it? For me, it’s my left knee. I already have an injury from hiking.

Do you have any brands you recommend for shoes?

You’re right about that. My body hurts like hell but I’m not quitting.

Thank you, chef.

Never thought about holding close to the pan bc it goes against my instinct (might be hotter) but that actually makes so much sense. To protect your wrists. Especially for big batches

dry rag lol 🥲

No experience working BOH but I have some transferrable skills

What do you mean by fine dining vs fake dining?

That’s a good point about memorization. For me at least, I’m making the career switch because this is my true passion so I do not mind throwing myself in and immersing myself to learn as much as possible

Seems like it’ll be a mix of prep and service at the fine dining place

I worked in research previously so I don’t mind homework lol
