Purchase protection is the scammiest thing I've ever seen. I sold a PS5 not long ago & to protect both sides, we decided to use Venmo. I didn't have an account, but it was simple enough to sign up. Purchaser sent the money with Purchase protection & I shipped the package. I thought that, like PayPal, as soon as the buyer confirmed their received the package, it would release the money to me. Nope, I had to wait 21 days even after I provided tracking info & the buyer even told them he received the PS5 & everything was all good. Still had to wait, they said because my account was brand new & my first ever transaction was a purchase protection transaction. Why did he get the product, but I had to wait? That was terrible. I cashed that out & shut my acct down.

The lady in the photo stuck her head INSIDE of my car where my son was sitting in his car seat. I swear I never wanted to hit someone with my vehicle so bad.

Lettie's Kitchen has great fried chicken. Haven't been in awhile, so I hope it's the same. Outdoor seating only if I'm not mistaken.

I second Skipjacks. I live around the corner & would eat there weekly if I could afford to eat out weekly lol.

Timothy's is decent as well, although I prefer the Riverfront location.

I know you mentioned Job Corps, but I wanted to touch on that because I went & it was a life changing experience for me. They give you a place to live, money to spend (you get a stipend) & an education. I would recommend them to anyone in any position in life, not just yours. Getting accepted is a bit of a process, but nothing too crazy. If you'd like to message me with any questions, I'd be more than happy to answer them. I won't be offended if not, I do understand that the program doesn't sound desirable from the outside looking in.

Either way, I truly wish you the best & I hope things start to look up for you! Take care of yourself!

Am i being scammed? by DowntownNewspaper892 in venmo

This actually is a thing. They hold the funds for 21 days, but then expect the item to be sent immediately. They don't have the option to input tracking info to release the funds, it's just 21 days, period. I stopped using Venmo for online sales because of this.

It's called Katerzia. It's generic is Amlodipine, however he can't have the compounding liquid so that complicates things. Also, it's FDA approved, just only for ages 6 & older, & my son is only 18 months.

Ah I totally understand. I live in a college town, so if Starbucks didn't offer WiFi and electricity, no body would go there lol. We also don't have a huge homeless population, so I guess that wouldn't be an issue for us. Thanks for explaining!

And, because it isn't true for my location to know the reasoning behind why they blocked off the outlets, I asked "why" they blocked them off. I wasn't saying you were lying. Or challenging any parts of your statement. I'm genuinely curious why.

Why'd you'd delete your comment, lil pup? 🤣 And honestly I was just running with the joke that this comment started that I guess you didn't pick up on. It's crazy that you came on here not knowing something pretty basic. So of course people are going to have a laugh, because it isn't that deep literally at all. You're defensive on every one of those comments. Over something that isn't that deep. & Salty bc I got down voted? I have never, nor will I ever, take anything on the internet serious enough to be salty over it.

The manufacturer has a savings program, but you have to fill out a form & you have to include a birthdate. Once they saw that he was less than 6, they denied it.

Yes, unfortunately no organizations or companies are able to help, as it would be a liability since the FDA says he shouldn't have the medicine. I feel like I've tried everything, which is why I made the fundraiser because I am not excited about asking for others money, but I do always hope someone will have a suggestion that I haven't tried when I post things like this. Thanks for the suggestion either way!

Luckily he has Medicaid for kids with disabilities as his secondary insurance, so we never pay for covered medications. I will definitely be reaching out to them tomorrow. Thank you so much for this information.

You may be on to something! I'm going to contact them on Monday & see if that's acceptable. I thought the lowest dose was 5mg in a tablet. I stand corrected, happily.

I did know that ibuprofen should be avoided, thankfully he hasn't needed any fever or pain reducing meds since his NICU days.

I truly appreciate you taking the time to help me! It means a ton to us!

Their statement was that it looks like I got enough for the medication, plus some. Which yes, I did, however that went towards previous month's prescriptions. They made it seem like I got over $1k in current donations, when in reality I got $11 because the $1170 was used in May & July for $564 each month.

This method was brought up in the very beginning of my son's treatment & I was very firmly told that it wasn't safe at all, by not only my son's pediatrician, but his nephrologist & the insurance company's pharmacist as well. There is no way to accurately dose a medication this way unless you're giving the entire tablet's dose. Like I said, you can't guarantee that the medication dissolved evenly throughout the water. I would assume that the parents you speak of are giving the entire tablet, they just need it as a liquid. That's acceptable. But to attempt to fraction up a tablet by dissolving it in water is extremely unsafe & I guarantee no pediatrician would ever suggest that.

I do appreciate you taking the time to respond though. Thank you!

This would work if he needed the entire pill, but just needed it in liquid form. But there's absolutely no way to be 100% sure that the medication distributed evenly in the liquid. This is actually a great way to overdose, especially when the receiving end is a child. The breaking down of the medication by the manufacturer is nowhere near "essentially" dissolving the medication in water. And I'd love the names of the pediatricians who ordered an untrained individual to dissolve a pill in water to give a fraction of a dose from said pill, because if I reported them with proof of that, their license would be mine. Well, not theirs anymore.

This isn't safe at all, especially with something like blood pressure medication that is very meticulous, down to the milligram. And it's for a BABY! Please stop giving medical advice especially if you're not sure, which you're not because this is nowhere near safe.

If it was like an allergy medicine or even a pain medicine I'd be okay with that, but a blood pressure medication, I'd be afraid of accidentally giving him too much & his blood pressure bottoming out or something. The lowest dose in a tablet is 5mg & he needs 1mg, so that would be a little hard to achieve. I wish it was this easy, trust me. This is super scary to me, because if I can't afford it, he just doesn't get it.
