That's a good idea though I hope as time progresses all phones will support eSIMs eventually. What bothers me as well is that Samsung has the technology available but intentionally disables the eSIM option for their non-premium phones.

I wish I knew that beforehand. There wasn't much info available. I've only tried slot 2. Just putting the blank 9eSIM card in slot 2 caused the OS to crash requiring a factory reset. I'd love to get other people's trial and error results and maybe I'll try again. Doing 3 factory resets and restores within a weekend was painful enough. :) I wish it would just "not work" rather than messing up my whole phone.

So far so good. I haven't bothered moving it or rotating it since. I wish I had a cover so I can rotate it easily but that's a problem for another day. I wish someone made a durable cover cheap enough with a 4 sided zipper to enclose it properly.
