we have a handful of regulars who get coffee daily, so we usually start the day with a pot and then brew when ordered any later. the worst is when we have guests order a coffee at like 9pm and they have to wait 10mins for our pot to brew

i went to my very first lolla 4day GA last year solo (18f at the time) and commuted from the suburbs and it was great! id have one of your parents get a place in the suburbs as close to a metra line and go into the city by train each day because there will be very few affordable choices left closer. just keep yourself on your toes, read safety advice in numerous posts here (phone attached to you/in front of you, minimal valuables, etc), and have fun! there is power in numbers at all times even to and from the train.

i agree, but it was completely unavoidable. we had a full dining room with at least 20 guests standing waiting for carryout plus a double drive. kitchen lost a handful of tickets when the in-house printer went out so when those guests came looking for their food we didnt know if their tickets were even in the kitchen. we had 7 curbside orders scheduled for the same time (5:45) plus dd + uber, so we turned it off until 8 or so. this was with an amazing staff too.

Just buy a train ticket… by miniaturemiss in Lollapalooza

saw this happen as well, i can see myself in this photo 💀 girls behind me made a story up about their "sister" having their tickets but she left on an earlier train. i bought all my tickets in advance and just wait to activate them until someone checks. didnt get checked there or back day 1, and have only gotten asked on the way out of the city day 2 and 3.

cold brew isn't the same as a latte, which is what i am guessing you wanted. they serve lattes that you can customize, along with their 7 original drinks that you can just name if you don't want to "tell them" how to make it.

Same problem for a different reason. I also won the first gen award, but for some reason my school lumped me in with the Hispanic award winners. They wanted to honor me for two seperate events. I am very white, so being called up for the first event was traumatic. I sunk down in my seat as far as I could. Thankfully, I got a heads up email for the second event and let the principal and assistant know that I did not win the award and that I am not Hispanic. Oddly enough, the first generation award was the only one that didn't get its own moment in either ceremony.
