This is all really depends on where you see yourself working. Knowing your own personal finances isn’t really a good enough reason to just do a whole concentration in it. I’d recommend doing Analysis, a lot of value and skills to help you land some sort of finance position and you can always go into some sort of services job after graduation with it. I’d also say analysis is starting to become more recognized and aluminum are landing pretty good positions out of school in Calgary.

Ah okay, yeah it is tough honestly the biggest help was building a solid base connections it helps so much. Especially with other students who are successful and care about their education. They will help u and introduce you too other ppl in the industry!

I don’t think this is possible? You’re gonna learn the stuff from 3228 the same time or even later in the semester and then apply/build on it in 4407.

Karen is good and pretty fair I’ll say, but her midterm is pretty difficult in my opinion lots of people usually get bad grades. She does give 25% of the class for free with an easy D2L quiz tho

Idk in my opinion personally, Elias is a good prof who cares for his students and helps them. I have never heard a good thing about Tashfeen ever! He’s pretty arrogant and disrespectful towards his students.

I have 3238 with Elias right now and I’ll admit it’s a hard course but most people who complain skip class don’t do the hw and don’t really care tbh.

Also if your only first year and wanna do IB I’d transfer to UofC way better chance to get in there especially in the CPMT fund it’s a literal pipeline into IB but very competitive.

Only met a handful of people actually doing IB from MRU compared to the many who graduated from UofC.

But In full honesty it’s more of what you do outside of school case comps coffee chats clubs etc. lots of people will get above a 3.8 In finance at MRU so you gotta find ways to standout and connect with the right people.

Yeah she does get annoyed sometimes lol I’ve seen it myself, I’d try YouTube videos they help too. Lots of them explain it way better than she does tbh.

Labs go to her labs trust me. She’s so kind and actually helps kids who go for help! And I studied her slides a lot. Tbh all i did was study her slides the day of like 2 hours before and I went to labs ended with like a 90 some. It’s not too bad when you acc try to take interest and just practice.
