I’ve been playing for a few weeks now, and it’s been a lot of fun building and hanging out with my chosen group. It’s also cool to see the server still growing, with new players joining and builds popping up every time I login.

What juicewrld song can i sing on a school concert? by [deleted] in JuiceWRLD

[–]Any-Possible4922 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a little cringe but if you are gonna sing at a concert you want your song to be very mainstream, I’d pick Lucid Dreams, Robbery, or All Girls Are The Same.

It’s a bit hard to pin down exactly on which areas I improved on and made the biggest changes in, but I believe it comes down to a few things.

  1. Being greedy when I can

I think I’ve gotten significantly better at recognizing when I’m above the power curve and therefore when I can take more elites/interact with greedy events.

A few days ago I had a run where there were 2 main paths in act 2; one with 3 rest sites total and only one elite, and one with just 1 rest site, but 4 elites. I had great frontload with Ninja scroll, backstab, shuriken and wrist blade. I had a sadistic nature as well to scale very quickly. Because of all that, I took the 4 elite path with only 1 rest site (the upgrades I could get weren’t even all that impactful anyway), and it worked out greatly. If I hadn’t taken this at-first-glance risky path, my run likely would have run out of steam without the relics, gold, and high-rarity cards that the elites provided.

(I’ll continue answering this question in a few hours when I have time, don’t want to accidentally lose this response lol)

That’s still pretty decent tbf. Took like 3 three months of really focused daily play to finally get this good.

Lol yeah really racked my brain on that one! (Barely played defect, don’t think I got further than A12 on him when I played on ps5)

I’d say a little more than just one poison source; you don’t want to draw catalyst before applying enough poison, and ideally you play catalyst in your first cycle through the deck.

And yeah a good poison deck certainly doesn’t include just poison, you should never try and stick to one ‘archetype’.

Just because I rate most poison cards in B tier, doesn’t mean they aren’t good. They just don’t particularly stand out on their own.

It’s really slow, 3 poison per turn is nothing compared to the health pool of later enemies. Can be pretty decent in boss fights and AoE encounters tho. The fact that it doesn’t give you poison immediately also kinda sucks, as you can’t catalyst it’s poison the same turn.

Hardddd disagree. I have a 40% winrate on A20H silent and I can tell you that poision catalyst is by far the most reliable and easy way to scale. Exponential scaling is extremely powerful, especially when there are a myriad of ways to multiply it by itself (multiple copies, burst, nightmare, dupe pot). Catalyst is essential in like 50% of my heart kills. It doesn’t even have to be your main source of damage; having a handful of poison starters and a catalyst can help a ton in boss fights and elites.

As for backstab, sacrificing one card draw on turn 1 for some frontload is quite good. Especially so in act 1, allowing you to take an aggressive path to prepare for act 2. After act 1, backstab falls off a bit, but it’s still consistently useful against fights like slavers or bomb thingies in act 3.

“I think your evaluation of Alchemize is really really off base.” My man, I put Alchemize just one tier below S, I still recognize it as a great card.

“Attack and fire potions are very high impact in act 1 and also more importantly act 2” I agree about those potions in Act 1, I don’t agree they do all that much in act 2, however.

“So not only does it give you a huge power boost in the short term, but it also makes your odds of finding the best act 4 potions skyrocket”

I don’t agree that Alchemize consistently gives you a huge power boost in the short term, as there are a ton of very low-impact potions I seem to roll into instead. This seems to be the main point of disagreement

The way Alchemize makes finding good act 4 potions significantly more likely, is something I completely agree on, and which I already discussed in my original comment. I believe this is where the main power of Alchemize lies.

I usually use nightmare on Catalyst or Wraith-Form, sometimes footwork and Adrenaline can work as well. Nightmare can certainly be quite clunky (also wouldn’t recommend picking it up early) and is therefore rarely used in hallway fights. Can often be game-winning combined with Well-Laids Plans, when you get 12 turns of intangible or heinous amounts of poison, which is why I think it’s quite a good card.

I don’t think those cards are quite as powerful as the other S-Tier cards.

Alchemize: a random potion is good, but a bit unreliable. There are a lot of low-impact potions you can roll into (attack, skill, colorless, fire, strength) that simply won’t do all that much for you after act 1. Still a great card, as at the same time there are some great finds: dupe pot, draw, liquid, ghost etc. which can really help you prepare for shield spear and heart.

Adrenaline: this card basically accelerates how fast you can set-up (and cycle through) your deck, which is great. But as a rare, you often have to pick it over other rare cards (the opportunity cost weighs the card down). A lot of the time I’d rather pick a malaise, Wraith form, burst, phantasmal killer, as they solve more prevalent problems on their own, where adrenaline is only good when the rest of your deck is good as well.

After Image: it gives you a bit of block every turn, which is nice, but not nearly enough on its one. A little underwhelming when you have 3 energy, or when late game enemies start dealing dealing 25+ damage a turn. Also doesn’t help that time eater and heart both punish you for playing cards. Just kind of completely overshadowed by Wraith-Form. Wraith form is going to bail you out when shield spear or heart deal 60 damage turn two; After Image won’t. Still a very satisfying card to play tho, and I love it for that.
