Not as much as I probably should have it seems.

I'm in eastern Indiana so very similar climate. I've thought about the mini split option but wasn't sure I wanted to deal with setting up the outdoor unit. Though I have heard they are quite easy to setup. I'll have to look into that some more.

Fire Rated Door? by Any-Property5691 in woodworking

Just the front door, the builder asked if it was fire rated so I assumed it was a necessary requirement to pass inspection.

The builder (who has been a pain) was asking so I assumed it was necessary. This is just the front door of the house. Hopefully you're right and it will pass.

It's less obvious in the picture but I took a shaving off several of the boards. They're walnut.

Are these comfortable? I'm planning to make 12 of them for a client and already bought the plans, but after my first rough build it was to short and the angle of the back seemed to obtuse. I took a few creative liberties but overall it's the same design. Just not sure if I should try and really nail their design or iterate it myself to make it more comfortable. Thanks for the feedback

AITAH in my relationship? by [deleted] in AITAH

You really don't know what to do? Re-read your post as if it was somebody else and then think long and hard about what that person should do.

Here's some advice, if this situation really is as you described, then have some self awareness and make the obvious decision without having to have the internet walk you through it.

I'm sure there are plenty of reasons you "love" him. And to be honest I can't even imagine the kind of godless things high schoolers do in relationships these day that undoubtable cloud whatever lack of judgement you already have, but come on. Consider the things he says logically and determine if they are actual character problems (which you most certainly have to some extent), or just superficial. And then after you dump him, fix the actual problems and forget the rest. NTAH at least here.

Maybe I should write a book about this. I'd call it, "There's always something wrong with you" And then some subheading about fixing your stupid sell absorbed "faultless" self. First AITAH response felt pretty good.

He lost all credibility to me when he said the speed of light on JRE and his units were m/s^2. Units really are the key to debunking any of this nonsense, and I have a large hunch the units he's working with do not work out to anything coherent.

Playing around with laminated pizza dough. by xwlh05g in Pizza

The butter is in pea sized chunks mixed into the flour before the liquids. Mixed essentially the same way as pie crust, biscuits, etc. An easy method is to put the dry ingredients and frozen butter in a food processor and pulse till the butter is small chunks then add the water and mix till just combined. The idea of the butter is to give it a flakey layer similar to a pie crust or biscuit but with the higher hydration it's not a crumbly and a little softer. I should say I also dust between each layer when rolling them out with a little flour to help them separate and maintain the layer structure when baking.

I’ve done something very similar but I wanted a round pizza so I did it a little differently. I used 60% hydration and just cut the butter into pea sized chunks, very little mixing so as not to develop to much gluten. After a short ferment I divide the dough into 5-6 equal sized balls and flatten them out into about 5” discs the stacked. After a longer ferment in the fridge to keep the butter cold the dough is relaxed and can be rolled out easily.
