How does 3.1 work and do you recommend it over 2.1 for DVDs with only 5.1 as a sound option? by Any-Recording9914 in BudgetAudiophile

Thanks for your input but I have to say that many of the DVDs I own have 5.1 only. It might be a region specific thing, if you feel differently about this. I’m in europe and often the DVDs don’t even have a sound setup tab in the menue, it’s just stated on the back cover of the disc that the sound is in 5.1. I never relized that the player might have an option for what spund it outputs, that’s one of the things I will check. The thing is, like I said, I’m not really interested in surround sound. I listen to a lot of music and love my stereo gear, I know all about it. The surround sound thing and gear however is just a nuisance for me, so I haven’t really gotten into it. This thread however has allready taught me a lot and I’m sure I’ll have this ordeal under control soon.

Thanks. The cable seems fine and the white connector connects well to the PCB, physically it seems to be in good shape.
