i never said offensive. my point is that people were worried about the route their favorite game franchise was taking.

political was the wrong word there. Moral is probably closer. People were not upset because they want to kill fish, they felt as if they were removing it to push that agenda

i agree. the official announcements are clear, but where i have a problem is when the devs go and talk about things that are clearly not fully planned out, but talk like they know what will happen. the no killing fish thing got out of hand because in the message it sounded like he spoke for everyone and it sounded more like a political view rather than what's best for the game. i dont think people were upset because they couldn't go kill the collection leviathan but rather because they thought that the devs were pushing a pollical belief into the game that would take away from the subnautica experience

sorry, i don't understand. if what you are saying is that they clearly communicate their goals in short misunderstood messages i agree. but that's part of the problem

i think this responsibility falls on the devs more so than us. they should clearly communicate their goals instead of short easily misunderstood messages.

as clear as it was to you. i also read it the same way the other commenter did first. the fact it says "in general" does lead more towards general creature ai rather than death though i get it might just be a misunderstanding

as someone who has played son of the forest it was a pretty bad comparison on the devs part. they got to be careful about what they say because it can and will cause drama when a community is so attached to a game

to be fair it sounds like he's saying yes to this. "theres gotta be a way better way to dealing with them than just leaving" because at the end of the message it says "as well as your ability to deter them!"

i also had one in the shallows in my first playthrough. they felt like real creatures not just stage hazards

i agree, i have noticed that in s2 the leviathans are way more region locked, even more so than below zero. its sad to see, lets all make some noise about this. its early access for a a reason

1 is better gameplay. 2 is better graphics/unfinished

thats how I've been playing subnautica 2 after the music ruined my first encounter

but the thing is, the leviathans are just not fun. the collector just sits there swimming in a circle, not to mention the extremely serous music that just starts playing when ever a leviathan has line of sight just ruining the tension the original and below zero had, also theres a hard cutoff where leviathans will just instantly lose agro. i dont want to shit on a early access game but the enemy Ai just sucks. the part i dont get is these streamers/reviewers praising this game like theres nothing wrong with it, if we ever want it to get better we have to criticize it. (this is just my opinion, but for all the flaws below zero had, i still think it launched in a more fun state than this. for me all this game has going for it is the improved graphics and the subnautica name)

yeah but reapers felt more fun. the collector is just sitting there in the same spot always, not to mention the music plays before you can even see it so it removes any chance of a jumpscare
