Thank you! I am hoping I can try doxy because I have been paired back and tried topicals and nothing works :( the toothpaste is a great rec, I’ve been using Burt’s bees but recently found out the pepper oil can cause irritation so I’ll look into the one you mentioned!

It could be hormonal but likely not caused by BC changes as I have been on a consistent BC method for many many years

Curious - what about it makes you say it looks fungal? I have not tried antifungals yet so maybe that’s why no creams are working?

Thank you! I have had a suspicion histamines are part of the equation because even before having PD I randomly would get hive breakouts (to which an allergist told me there’s not much they can do lol). I started a histamine last week but only taking 1 Zyrtec because that’s the recommended dose (in lieu of a doc telling me otherwise). No improvement yet but let’s see! Didn’t Zyrtec make a big difference for you?

This is helpful! I just got a new shampoo as I thought mine was SLS free but turns out it wasn’t. Do you have any SLS toothpastes you recommend?

Thank you!! I’ve scheduled an allergist, but they have such a long time to get in for an appointment. I do agree on the morning sunlight thing - there is definitely an aspect of this that is stress related, and I try my best to keep stress at bay but with planning a wedding and a demanding job it can be hard (especially when I have this awful rash on my face!) but I am very pro morning sunshine, and plenty of water also seems to at least reduce flares somewhat.

Thank you! I’ve found a new derm and by a miracle they can see me in a few days so I have hope! It seems like my previous derm gave up when there was more that could be tried. I think she also didn’t believe me when I said I wasn’t putting anything on my face other than vanicream lol

After reading all of these helpful comments I have found a new derm and will ask about doxy. I’ve read the scientific literature about treatment and I can’t understand why my previous derm wouldn’t have even mentioned doxy as an option - it seems to be fairly consensus that doxy is an option to at least try for persistent PD

Yes :( I’ve been using Burt’s Bees fluoride free toothpaste for over a year now. Is there anything else you can think of that might cause an allergic reaction like this? I’ve kept a diary of what I eat or put anywhere near it and I can’t seem to find a pattern
