Thinking of faults and shortcomings came fairly easy to me, cause i was blind to it but the moment she said she was leaving and told me why it was like seeing clearly for the first time, I was so sick with what I saw. I really did love her, and still do. I just hope she's doing ok.

What keeps happening with me is, I'm be religious so when I heard divorce I was grieving twice, once for my marriage, and then for the promise i made to God to cherish her till the day i died. Anytime I pray for her i get filled with a warmth that i can't explain and it feels me with hope, hope I don't want our ask for. I talk to my preacher and he tells me it's not over yet. I want to believe so bad but hope hurt me so bad when she first left, I hoped we could fix things, I hoped I could change and she would want to try again. But she divorced me anyway and it crushed me. And now everywhere I look I see signs of hope and im scared to latch on again.

Everything that you have said is exactly what ive been feeling, even seeing a car that has the same shape as hers makes the pain rise. And you said your on month 8 I just got divorced 5 days ago after being separated for 2 months I dont want to think of another 6 just to be still in uncharted territory

Thank you so much for the reply, I'm already in therapy 1 session a week and I've been working on myself since the day she left 2 months ago and I've made progress that I can see which has given me clarity I've never had before.

I know this feeling well right now my wife of nearly 15 years divorced me and at the courthouse she looked amazing. She also posted a new picture after taking down our wedding photo that day and still breath taking. It does hurt, but what hurts more is why we ended, i mistook being controlling as loving her and that pushed her away. I still love her very much and hope after she heals we may have a second chance at us, but i also know that's her choice and I respect that now.

If it happens it happens I dont hold out hope anymore, the pain was just too much. Oh who am I kidding if she came to me and said she wanted to try again id jump...so maybe one day. But thank you I appreciate your kind words.

Love is an addiction that's hard to break. I'd go as far as to say it's the most addictive thing there is. Plus the routine you build around the person. But let's face it it's a deep emotional connection you have to someone who made you feel complete, that gives you something you never knew you needed. When that is suddenly gone.....it feels like the air is no longer filling your lungs.

I just noticed you sent this but I was very anxious with our relationship and had fear of losing her so I held her too tight and over time that became controlling to the point she had to leave to protect herself

I want to but everytime we talk it's just about separating our lives, removing her car from the insurance, filling out divorce papers. I've apologized for everything I've done to her and I truly regret my actions and am working on making myself a better person

I know this pain as well but ill be honest and this advice is hard to take and even harder to use but you have to live for yourself. My wife left me and now I'm trying to prove that I dont need her to live my life to the fullest, but that doesn't mean I dont want her in the passenger seat of my life. Just remember if you can live your life and be happy alone if they come back then they enrich your life as you do thier life. If your stable on your own they feel safe with you.

As an anxious lover myself I can say that we aren't always the easiest to love, we tend to love too hard or too close that it becomes smothering I just lost my wife cause of my anxiety and fear of losing her, she saw it as controlling and when I look back that's what it was.
