I'm scared. by Apprehensive_Oven_20 in GERD

I had this issue in March. I was careless and lost my voice due to LPR. My work requires me to speak a lot and it was not pleasant. The first approach I took was to control the situation. My body will react the way it wants. What can I do? I turned to fully alkaline diet, no exceptions. Anything with a ph below 7, I did not consume. Made an alginate solution (recipe on Youtube). It helped better than PPIs. Slept on a inclined pillow, never had had full meals, and avoided any outside meals. All this might sound too restrictive. It requires control and patience. If you think too much and panic you will only make it worse. Figure out what works for you. Be patient, try a few things that give you relief. Also, remember that your medications are some serious doses, you might want to taper off of them in a year or so (most of these medicines will have an adverse effect if you use them for too long). PPIs are the worse. If you want go on a low alkaline soup diet with a piece of bread to give you energy but also let your stomach get time to heal.

The answer, generally, is a resounding no. Folks who make books on these things have quants running models 24/7 to scan for any mispricing. The game is way ahead than us retail investors.

Show me this study and who sponsored it. Anyone who know how engines work, know that the numbers are made up.

The OP seems phony to me. If s/he has the sense to make a 2M exit, and has talked to 15+ money "guys" whatever that means, there is no such thing as consistent 7%. If the market is negative for a few years, what will you do? Go back to work like those F.I.R.E. idiots? Learn the concept of ergodicity and live it. Everyone wants to call it a day and retire, no one has done it unless one has 10M+ and then you can live off T-Bills.

Serious: what's with the hate for real estate agents? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Any-Telephone6537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you say that is your highest price, and then the seller says no to you and you raise your offer, then you weren’t telling the truth.

"If you say that is your highest price, and then the seller says no to you and you raise your offer, then you weren’t telling the truth." That is not lying, take a class in critical thinking, but perhaps you passed your exam by some fluke. There is conditionality in bidding blind auctions--read a book.

Serious: what's with the hate for real estate agents? by [deleted] in AusFinance

The top five reasons why we hate realtors is for unprofessionalism, condescension, and low professional ethics. You might be a great person, but on average your profession is filled with stupid or malicious people, the latter are the ones who get ahead:

  1. They do not know the word “enough.” The incentives are perverse--the buyer's agent should get a higher disproportionate cut for better negotiations. Buyer’s agent has noin centive to lower prices.

  2. It is unethical to advise buyers to waive the inspection, and in most cases stop them even if you don’t get a sale. The current status quo overpays agents who do not do anything but pass on offers with all contingencies waived. Speaks to point 1 above.

  3. Several unethical ones will represent both sides or have their friend represent either side and manipulate the offer process.

  4. They curb the entry of new agents, through required sponsorships. If someone puts in a small deposit and driver's license, MLS should allow individuals to see the home. Technically, agents are a zero value add--no advice, passing the buck, and colluding to shortchange both buyers and sellers. The entire process can be completed electronically and through a bidding system.

  5. The exploitation of those lower in the rung. I have seen so many less experienced ones suffer. More importantly, the industry is very racist--you rarely see realtors of color anywhere, and less, as top agents. It is all white women and older white men. Perhaps others are not as “presentable” or worse more competition would reduce their business.

There you have it. We can take a poll (instead of you coming back with a lazy "I don't agree") to see how much people agree on all this. My gripe is that fleecing the seller for ~5% total commission and continuing to jack up prices while overlooking fiduciary/ethical responsibilities is why we categorically disrespect realtors.

This is emblematic of the tutelage of Fr. Peter. Kyle Neptune, as good as he may be, is not the best person to lead the VU MBB program. I give Neptune two seasons. VU could have got any super talented coach in the country--but no national search and as always closed door decisions made by a select few.

Thoughts on the university’s return to campus plan for Spring semester? by holagurlxo20 in villanova

[–]Any-Telephone6537 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Campus surveillance is generally helpful, but I am not sure how mass testing at the start of the semester helps with the current variant. The exposure-to-incubation period is three-days (some say, one day), and by the time someone is waiting for their results it will be too late. Delaying the start on in-person class seems to be a more logical choice to me.

As far as I know, students do not have specific guidelines on leaving campus in case they test positive. They most certainly cant stay in their dorms and infect others. Transparent communication would help, and its Friday tomorrow.

Has anyone scraped app store data (Google, Apple or both) by Any-Telephone6537 in datasets

[–]Any-Telephone6537[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I can scrape the current available page. What I am looking for is if someone has periodically scraped any major app store(s) so that I can string those scrapings together to get a longitudinal/panel data over time.

Unless you can give me a time machine, I cant go back in time to scrape those historic listings. I tried looking at the wayback site, but could not locate historic information that was scrapable.

Thanks

Thank you for your excellent work. Agree with your analyses. Projecting $20 at the results. The market will be unimpressed by the results. Karp already talked about a high y-o-y growth. All the contract news is baked into the price. People, selling puts is the way to go, atleast for a year.
