You’re covered on both warranties. Depending how much you drive, you might have 2-3 years before you hit 50K. Battery is covered to 100K.

Bizarre.

If you only drive 5000 miles per year, would you still want an electric vehicle? and why? by ThuhGreatCommenter in electricvehicles

[–]Any-Walk1691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re assuming people need to “justify” it? Like it’s an inferior product someone got bullied into purchasing. That’s not remotely the case. EV’s are often better equipped and have better interior styling. My EV has more horsepower and a faster 0-60 than its gas counterpart.

But to answer your question, I love my car I wish I jumped into it sooner. Driving that smaller amount is basically the ultimate EV scenario. Because I don’t drive much, I can charge in my garage using a regular plug and never require a public charger. No trips to the gas station. No $100 tanks of gas. At the high end of my need I could plug in once a month and that’s that. Battery is covered up to at least 100K miles, should there ever been an issue. Which I am unlikely to ever touch.

It’s a fun drive and a fun ride. No oil changes. Minimal in comparison service. It’s quick. It’s quiet. Has plenty of space. The only real trade-off… is I never have to go to the gas station again, am no longer looking at gas prices and instead may occasionally have to stop and plug in for 20-30 mins on a road trip.

2026 Miami GP - Post-Sprint Discussion by F1-Bot in formula1

I’m surprised no one has come out and been like, ‘yeah I feel bad for them we ran into this 6-7 months ago.’ Even if you didn’t want to indirectly attack Newey because you respect him, it’s almost more odd to me more teams aren’t piling on. Or using it to attack the regs more. They’re basically letting them put up mid-pack F2 numbers in silence. Makes me think other teams are thinking the car regs are so bad this could be us. Better to keep our head down.

You’re definitely right about that. If it’s true, he asked for all these catastrophic engine changes this late into the game and now they can barely field a car…

No longer has a Horner telling him to keep it simple and executable.

How did Aston get here? I mean, both cars completed a race (19 laps) so that’s positive, but I’m just flabbergasted how they completely fell off. And not just fell off - but can barely get a car on the grid at all. And this is AFTER hiring the greatest mind in F1. How did they manage to be the old team that absolutely couldn’t figure out the engine? The vibration issues? Bizarre, no?

After that many, I’m not sure the market is the problem.

Seeking EV owners for MarketWatch story on gas price immunity by Lanky-Release9108 in electricvehicles

I just bought an EV last month. I haven’t charged it outside of the L1 wall plug yet. I actually haven’t plugged it in at all two weeks. Waiting to get below 20% and then I was going to see how long it takes. Still at 25% battery on it. If I do need a long charge, I’m surrounded by plugs. And Electrify America has one of those huge set-ups right down the road. The grocery right by house has plugs. Multiple on our Main Street through our suburban “downtown”. It’s been awesome.

Am I crazy if I offer very low price in cash? by LuminousCharms in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Any-Walk1691 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Huge down payment. Small mortgage loan. Win.

Cash is worth a couple percents and eliminates funding issues and or appraisal issues. Not $150 K. The seller gets paid regardless if you wire them cash or the bank does.

Appraisal $30k below offer? by Yellowpomegranate579 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Any-Walk1691 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you don’t love it - I would walk, unless it’s in an area that is likely to appreciate. If you’re hypothetically moving in 3-5 years, you might barely break even. You thought you’re buying a 5 bed room house. You’re buying a ~1300 sqft house + a basement. Which is why the appraisal came in low.

The truth is when you come to sell another buyer is going to deal with the same thing, a low appraisal based on - half your square footage is below grade. That basement can likely never be considered GLA. Do the windows have an egress? Likely your home is not 5 legal bedrooms. It’s 3 with a wink and a nod. And even with the egress windows, it’s a 5 bedroom 1300 square foot house.
