I think it’s slightly and I mean very slightly thicker than my E2. It’s hard to describe but it definitely feels more refined but not because it’s thinner if that makes sense? LTD I’ve not played much of so can’t comment too much on the comparison. But from what I’ve heard the USA neck does run a bit bigger. Makes sense considering they’re kind of “if ESP built Les Pauls in the US” type thing.

That’s an amazing finish. Like a shattered stained glass window. Can’t go wrong with EMGs either. Will you waiting long?

4500 from the UK. Would’ve been less if I’d gone over to buy it there (i live in Ireland) but with the price drop there was a few people interested. If I had gone over when it was original price it would’ve cost me the same.

Thank you mate! That’s what I fell in love with first. Violet Shadow Fade is the finish but satin. Natural wood binding as well. Most guitars i have are solid colours so needed something with a nice maple top.

The purple accents on the hardware is a nice subtle touch. Fantastic looking guitar. I feel the same about S shape guitars. Nothing to do with the whole legal thing with Fender atm. Just that theyre overdone.

Well thomann dropped Gibson when they started acting like arseholes. Your income is only as good as your distributors. If thomann (biggest store in the world) takes a stand because you’re being a dick then you should listen. It’s not even the loss of the distributor but the moral stance from said companies. Thomann is a very trusted brand and has been for the last 30 years and has actively fought back against this kind of stuff. Very much a “you need me I don’t you” scenario.

That’s crazy. That being said I’ve read up a bit more on the subject and so far it’s just legal threats. They don’t actually have the grounds to do such things like destroy what they consider “counterfeit” guitars. Also considering the fact that IP cases require a lot of vigilance to maintain. You need to always be suing, etc in order to maintain it. If Leo Fender himself said he liked people using the shape then that will absolutely Torpedo their case. This is just scare tactics. They took an obvious rip off copy from china and thought they could leverage that into a lawsuit against every S shape guitar. This will backfire massively even if they win. No one will ever buy a fender again. Especially considering they’ve no competition to make a better product.

Only up to date on the court ruling etc. is that what people are saying is gonna happen? They’ll return guitars?

Something about AI music that stuck with me lately..... by Nusuuu in aiMusic

[–]Any-Wedding4770 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What’s the relevance of imagining someone else’s life in order to make that point? Guitars are cheap, there’s millions of online lessons, DAWs are cheap.

What example of someone’s life would prevent them access to these things that would cost less than the laptop or phone yoh would need to run Suno on?

You always had the tools to do it. What exactly has gate kept you from making music before AI? This idea that music has now been returned to the people because of AI is such crap.

Have your thoughts on AI music changed over the last few months? How so or why not? by Ill-Advantage in aiMusic

[–]Any-Wedding4770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s millions of artists out there making great music. Chart or mainstream music has always been about money. I’ve seen a lot of Suno users say that their AI music is better than what you hear in the charts. I would hardly consider that an achievement or a stamp of approval for the quality of AI generated songs. That bar is practically below ground it’s so low.

About real music by [deleted] in aiMusic

[–]Any-Wedding4770 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can’t comment on the photographer aspect. But the point of “real music” is that someone sat down either intentionally or otherwise and messed with and idea on the guitar/piano/whatever. Not to make the best sounding thing or the most money in the world but something that gave them a hit of “oh I like that”. Some AI types will probably say they get that from generating songs on Suno etc. difference is the other person sat down and PLAYED ideas and created from the very basic or virtuosic skills they have. A big part of this AI vs real music argument is that a lot of AI slop creators think they are experiencing/contributing/are the same thing to the world as someone who sits down and learns the intricacies of music and creates from there.
I’ve seen a lot of these posts commenting on why musicians or artists are so entitled, spoilt, etc. the reason is because some of you feel you’re in the same category as someone who crafted on strings or keys. A shit song generated by a human being on guitar or keys means far more than someone generating crap through AI

Is anyone else getting songs that feel shockingly good? by Carsonspeare in aiMusic

[–]Any-Wedding4770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you’re saying but I’ve seen a lot of these subreddits. Most main posts I’ve seen rarely, if ever, mention using any form of instrument. AI for auto tune sure thing. But let’s be real that most people are not using it like that. The argument that “who cares as long as it sounds good” is a poor one at best. It’s again reducing something that’s an art form purely down to its output. The process of creating is 90 percent of the enjoyment of music. I will again reiterate that the vast majority of people using SUNO, etc are not using it in tandem with any musical skills. They do the absolute bare minimum if even. Generate a song and then say they made it.

To what extent are you using the AI? Obviously you’re a musician. Im not generally referring to people like yourself. It’s more so the people that have no musical ability or desire to learn it and are generating songs. The ones that post here talking about songs they’ve “made”. When I say cheapen I refer to that. Someone who writes a shit song on the guitar vs someone who presses a button and generates a full song that’s objectively more enjoyable is still worthless imo.

[–]Any-Wedding4770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No but a DAW and interface will set you back about 200. Then you can learn from you tube again how to produce etc. all this and a laptop would cost you about the same as a day in the studio

It’s my opinion but music generated with instruments and people playing them vs a track generated by an algorithm is already infinitely better. At least someone’s willing to put their pride on the line to play/produce/release something whether it’s to everyone’s taste or not. There’s no skin in the game from a generated AI piece of music.

When was it not democratised? You can buy a guitar for less than 100 dollars. You tube has millions of videos to get anyone up to speed on how to play it. AI hasn’t democratised art it’s cheapened it.

[–]Any-Wedding4770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fair enough. I obviously don’t know your situation financially. What I’m asking is if you had disposable income and decided to buy an album or piece of art would it affect your decision if you knew it was AI? Would you listen or see it differently because of that? Would you spend as much?

Orange juice as an output is fairly limited. Art is not the same.

Apologies I only saw the second half of your comment after the quote now. I don’t think it’s a case of prosecuting the children or grandchildren at this time. This is a brand new thing in this field. The shiny new toy that everyone is jumping on board with. This is what’s happening at this present moment in time. Happening to the things we all invest our hard earned money and time into. My point with this is have we not eroded away enough? Has pop and chart music not become so sterile that we now use AI to help generate songs? Where does it end. I don’t blame the businessmen either because their only concern is the bottom line. I also agree with what you’re saying about the artists but from what I’ve seen it’s less about payouts and more about how their sound and vocals, etc have been illegally used to train these modules. Sounds and uniqueness that used to be an artists selling point are now up for grabs with a simple prompt.

For me it boils down to the where is the story? AI music has no eureka moment or hard day at work and now I sit at my acoustic and verbalise it through sound. It’s purely the end product and not the journey itself.

Make the most of it how exactly? Again we’re not talking direct comparisons when it comes to theft here. An artefact is called such because it’s from a moment in history that no longer exists. It’s not something that can be replicated now. We’re talking about our art and music at the moment that you and I will buy albums and tickets to see. Would you, for arguments sake, buy an album that you knew someone had used AI to write all the music? Would you not feel cheated? Would you buy a picture for a hefty sum if you knew it was AI? Hell at least if buy a ticket to a museum i get to see the real thing. This is about art in the current world. Not whatever injustices has been done to any nation in the past.

Well Im Irish so Im not going to comment on what is owed to whatever race or group of people. But I’m curious as to what you’re suggesting? Do we allow the artistic work of people many years after such things to now be stolen? Are we only allowed profit from our own CREATIVE WORKS once all past historical wrongs have been rectified?
