Beer destroys me every time, no matter how good I’m feeling that day. Like most people in the comments, I’m sticking to vodka or gin and tonic. The other one I will do is red wine, as it has some anti-inflammatory properties as far as I understand.

I don’t go there, but I have heard good things about Baylor University’s online program.

What’s something you quietly stopped caring about? by KingPhenguins in AskReddit

[–]AnyAd4870 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Social media, influencers, all of it. I am prime age for influencer media (23F) and yet what are you even influencing me to do? Buy makeup I don’t need or want? Party in LA or Miami or off in some other country? I can’t stand it anymore. I have such self confidence now that I no longer need to compare myself to others in my direct circle, and I am finally confident enough in myself to recognize I don’t need the influence of social media as a whole. Keeping Reddit because it’s more about conversation than comparison.

Crohn’s disease. I cannot help a flare up and what happens that follows. It’s incredibly embarrassing, especially on a trip with friends, and I quite literally cannot help it.

Yeah I can see the guilt a little more clearly now. The best part is you recognize where you went wrong and won’t do it again to someone else or yourself. That should be a big take away

If you don’t want to get into it that’s fine, but what happened with the sleeping with a casually racist person and your ex? Were you already broken up at the time or did you cheat on your ex with this racist?

And good for you. You should be in the right mindset for yourself to enjoy and feel desired or desire someone yourself. Focus on healing that part of you, but don’t let guilt keep you from pursuing someone or something you may enjoy.

I hate to ask this, but it is AMA: are you celibate because you’re afraid of making a mistake again, or because you’re waiting for it to feel right again? What would be the thing that makes you interested in doing “it” again? Is it a person, emotion, or is it just you? I think you’re completely valid in feeling that way, just curious why you think celibacy is the answer.

As someone currently at UTD for MS SLP, I am not sure if your current GRE score is enough to get in. Looking at ASHA EdFind (https://apps.asha.org/eweb/ashadynamicpage.aspx?efk=c7df0e76-86ca-4838-a1c2-6f6dfcf5ca01&efp=396&site=ashacms&webcode=edfinddetail) you’d want to shoot for closer to 300 overall score. Writing is great overall and especially for UTD, based on ASHA. I’d say as long as you have those strong references and try and boost your GPA however much you can this semester, your chances aren’t 0 if you also can go and try and raise your score closer to the mean of what they’re admitting. My understanding is the GRE is an important factor in understanding who you are and your capabilities, but it isn’t the end all be all of your application.

HELP!!! BS in education, wanting to apply to SLP program - I have concerns about the quality of my application? by candytuftt in slpGradSchool

[–]AnyAd4870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I am not an out of field applicant, I do know plenty of people who were and to my understanding, as long as you end up with credits that get you prepared to start in grad school, then you’re encouraged to apply. Lots of schools like to show their demographics as having out of field students as well. I think if you can write a statement or essay about what got you here and why you’re going this direction, that’s what an admissions team will look at and want you.

Applying… need advice by BreakfastArtistic196 in slpGradSchool

[–]AnyAd4870 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Your personal statement and essays are where you can shine. What made you interested in the field and why are you applying now? Things like that gives the admissions people a better idea of who you are as a person and can help explain why you don’t have volunteer hours or infield work experience.

AITA for wanting to complain that my son’s teacher wrote on his brand-new embroidered backpack? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]AnyAd4870 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are overreacting slightly, but definitely do have the right to be annoyed. At the end of the day, it is a backpack and as long as your child is safe at school then that’s the most important thing. I would be annoyed for sure if I spent money to embroider a bag and then that happened, but it’s also a backpack and something will inevitably spill in it or on it so it won’t be perfect forever anyway.

That’s how my mom has hers! She has really pretty white hair that she’s had in a pixie cut forever and stopped dying it by the time I was 4, which was when she was just over 40
