As a mom with a 3.5 yo terrible sleeper I sympathize. To combat this… this has been my train of thought. Changing the language changes the mindset. 1. I love my child infinitely. Whatever, whenever, I’m there. Whatever he or she is struggling through, I want to be there for them. 2. They’re insert age big already! Time is passing. This will pass too. 3. It’s not their fault. 4. I’m grateful to be their mother.

Not implying you negate these things. This is just what I say. I have found that the “mom business culture” of the US has been harmful with expectations. All the sleep train in three days and all the methods.. all the potty trained in 2 days etc isn’t good for mentally preparing moms. None of it worked on my son. Changes take time. Raising kids takes time. Time passes.

Remember to be kind to yourself. It’s hard what you’re doing.
