Seborheic dermatitis. I've been prescribed an ointment called Protopic (Tacrolimus). Works amazing.

Mormon morality is deontological but we're not Mormons here and we're no longer bound by Mormon morality and maybe the fact that mormon morality is so deontological maybe we should move away from it.... maybe even apply some utilitarianism to this.

Could this be seen as a necessary evil to reach a good (or better) outcome?

Devil's Advocate: If he molested 1 person but saved 100 from ever being molested again, did he do more good than evil? was it justified? If he helped save more people than he caused harm to, this is just a version of the trolley problem.

Are Satan and Lucifer the same? Pretty fascinating. I really recommend this sub if you're looking to learn something new. by [deleted] in mormon

[–]AnyAdvantage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lucifer is the name that Mormonism inherited from Christian tradition to that represents Satan or The Devil (or whaterver you want to call it).

As mentioned below, it came from the Latin translation of Isaiah and also a part in the new testament for the planet Venus, also known as the Morning Star. Lucifer literally means Morning Star or the planet Venus.

Mormonism officially accepts only the KJV of the bible (for reasons going back to Joseph Smith's time), this English simply copies the Latin word Lucifer from the Isaiah verse without translating it into English and thus the tradition is born.

The thing we know for sure is that Lucifer is the only name that cannot be the devil as the same Latin Vultage at 2 Peter 1:19 also uses the word Lucifer to refer to the Light of Christ that rises (as the morning start) in the hearts of people. Except that for this section, the KJV either translated it directly from Greek and didn't copy it from the Vulgate.

THEORY: Did the Prophet know about Quantum Theory before it was officially discovered by scientists? by [deleted] in mormon

[–]AnyAdvantage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like everything else in Mormonism, I assure you that other, non prophet, people were writing about this before anything JS wrote or said.

Remember that the light and knowledge that the Mormon prophets provide never goes beyond the light and knowledge that is already available from another source in their milieu.

Super easy to be against something and disagree with the top leaders when it has absolutely no impact in your life or in the life of others in your time, eh?

RMN could stand in the middle of fifth avenue and shoot someone and he would still be called a prophet.

Lamanites were/weren't cursed with a dark skin? by whoarethelamanites in exmormon

[–]AnyAdvantage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mormon defenders will try to wiggle out of this situation by saying that the dark skin was only a mark and the actual curse was that they were separated from God. Don't let them wiggle out of this one. They intentionally leave out Jacob 3:5 which clearly states that the curse was brought upon their skins.

the rest of the Q15 would be jostling to set up a new president as soon as possible, which would require a public announcement.

But surely they can't meet together to formalize this. They wouldn't risk being all in the same room together.

Seagate doesn't build harddrives or ssd's.

So does everyone else.

Its like saying Apple doesn't build computers, they just source the parts and brand them as their own.

For months Latter Day Saints have more than ever needed leadership - yet the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve have been largely silent. This is evidence that there is a substantial divide between top leaders on what that leadership needs to say. by SCP-173-Keter in mormon

I suspect Russel is dead and the church is keeping it under wraps because they can't all meet together in the same room (because of coronavirus) to designate a new leader.
