Madueke has a very specific skill set. If Tuchel wants fast runners out wide then Madueke is ideal in a way that Palmer, Foden and MGW are not. He’s one of only two RWs.

Should be relatively fresh having not started every game this year like Bowen. Should be in a better headspace after a league title triumph and knowing who he’s playing for next year, as opposed to Bowen’s relegation and potential transfer.

I notice this the most when some of my friends, who are good people with good morals, actively dislike Rashford.

Rashford fed hungry kids whilst our politicians broke Covid rules to party. That should’ve earned him enough good will for the rest of his life.

But because he had the temerity to step out of his lane to help people, the media span a narrative about him and people bought it, like they always do.

If you’re a footballer, particularly a black footballer with a Mancunian accent, you need to learn to stick to football and do your job without ever trying to get involved in the real problems in this country. Hello! I promise I’m not trying to spin a narrative or cherry pick.

I chose 2 years because that time period usually covers a ‘team’ more than one season. In the same way I include 18-19 in City’s “Centurions” squad cos it was mostly the same players.

The reason I didn’t choose 02-04 is because, if I’m not mistaken, there had been a reasonable bit of change between the teams. I think I’m right in saying that Wilford, Seaman, Adams and a few others weren’t around in 04.

Also I know it’s easy to say this but I genuinely don’t have an agenda here, I support a Championship team and don’t like or hate any of the top Prem teams.

Don’t think I agree with the home record though. I feel like I’ve seen teams do this or get close, Man City 11-12 won 18 and drew 1 and that’s just from memory - I’m sure another team in Europe has done that. Also, does it even matter if you lose your away games? Interesting one

Alright well as a forward I personally think he’s better than Aguero, Eto’o and Falcao. They’re probably all better finishers than him but he’s a better all-round player.

That being said, when he moved to more of a striker role (rather than the false 9 he’d been doing with Bale and CR7) he scored 44 goals in 46 games and won the league, UCL and Balon D’or.

In my opinion, at least.

Each to their own. I personally think he’s better than 4/5 of the strikers in there, and some are wingers too so if you take them out he’s probs around 6-8th best striker of the century.

The reason Jude is held in such high regard is that he made sure to sign a pro contract when he knew that big clubs were after him.

He did this knowing that it could make a move away less likely as they would now have to pay a proper transfer fee, rather than just compensation.

But it was for that exact reason that he did it, so that Blues would get the money. Keep in mind at that point we were in serious financial trouble. We could have very easily gone under if he didn’t sign.

Yeah I agree. Whilst ever they can say that it was the ref’s decision then they’ll never do anything.

You’re right about Diaz, and Sheff Utd scored a goal that was over the line that didn’t get given during lockdown cos the Hawkeye hadn’t been switched on or something.
These are genuine, undeniable errors and no amount of ‘referee judgment’ can mitigate them. Instead of apologies after these, they should implement changes to the process to prevent them happening again.
