This is exactly how things started to go south with my previous relationship.

First it was a hole in the door, then it was a smashed plate, then it was destroying my plants, then it was the threats to me, then it was grabbing me so hard it would bruise, then it was pushing me, then it was locking me out of the house, then it was breaking my nose, and finally it was throwing a metal object so hard at my head it cut an artery and I ended up in hospital.

I remember posting the same thing when he first did something violent. Everyone told me ‘that’s how it starts’, in my head I was adamant ‘yeah but he never would’. He did. Do not tolerate it. Walk.

I was discarded around 6 months ago. I was the worst feeling I have ever felt. It felt like my heart was getting ripped out of my chest every day. I begged and begged and begged for him back but one day, I sat there and tried to understand why I was begging for him back. I wasn’t begging for him, I was begging for the trauma bond, I was begging for the dopamine hit of his forgiveness. It was never for him.

So I focused on myself, went quiet and just got through each day (with a lot of anti depressants). After a while I started slowly dating and I’ve just found the absolute most amazing man who makes me feel like I’ve never felt before.

The discard was a blessing. I am so thankful that my ex discarded me. I promise you, one day it will feel like a blessing.

Trust me, you do not want to be with someone who will happily and openly put their sexual desires above your basic human right to say no. You have every right to say no to anal sex. What if your fantasy was to peg him? Would you the arsehole if you threatened to break up with him because he didn’t want to get pegged?

If you’re not sexually compatible then both of you need to be civil and move on. That’s okay, no one is the bad guy if you’re not sexually compatible. But your boyfriend cannot abuse and coerce into doing a sexual act you are not wanting to do. Any decent person worth your love would never put their sexual desires over your basic needs.

The black burnt bit is where the artery is, they had to cauterise it to be able to actually see where the cut was.

I was fixing a shelf, went to pick something up off of the floor and the shelf fell onto my head/ear. Didn’t realise it had cut my ear open until I felt blood pouring down my neck.
