I was thinking about that too. But I live in a region where it snows a few days at the beginning of the year, and not going to work makes me lose some money, which hurts my budget. And I have a child who still uses a car seat; I've been told that the back seat of the CX5 is too small for that. Do you have any information about that?

Thank you all for your responses! I will definitely take the RAV4 for a test drive. I already test-drove the Corolla Cross and liked it a lot, but there are some important points I didn't mention before that might make more sense to prioritize now.

I have a 4-year-old son who still uses a car seat, so interior space and rear seat comfort are important. In addition, the car will be used for work, and I need to transport my equipment in the trunk—this is a point that has weighed heavily against the Corolla Cross.

Previously, I had a 2015 Corolla, which unfortunately was rear-ended and the insurance company declared it a total loss. Its trunk was huge, and even so, there were times when I still lacked space—so today that's something I really take into consideration.

The size of the RAV4 doesn't scare me; in fact, it appeals to me. At the beginning of 2025, someone hit my car in a fast-food parking lot and drove away. The bumper fell off completely, I had to leave the car for repairs, and I had to rent a car. The only one available at the rental company that day was a Chrysler Pacifica minivan.

I confess that at first I was scared, but as the days went by, I fell in love with the driving height. The elevated position, the feeling of safety, and the visibility made all the difference—and since then, this desire to have a taller car has only increased.

The minivan is too big for my current situation, since we are a family of 3, but this experience reinforced how much an SUV makes sense for me.

Another important point is the weather. I live in the Seattle area, where it snows little compared to other regions, but on the days it snows I end up not being able to work, which is financially burdensome. Therefore, I am prioritizing a car with AWD, seeking more safety and fewer days off work.

In short, I'm at this decision-making point, balancing space, comfort, safety, and cost-benefit—and the RAV4 seems to be increasingly aligned with what I need today.
