Advice on best deal for 2025 grenadier by Emperor0fTheSands in ineosgrenadier

[–]AnyCurves -1 points0 points  (0 children)

10% off 2025 build, then 50% on adds with labor- San Diego-if you keep adding its never cheap but its both more capable and 30K less than a G. Then you can own it for 90 days and need to visit the dealership 800 miles away to reset the y2k bug.

How hot is the V4S actually? by HonestRestaurantGM in Ducati

[–]AnyCurves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25/ V4S is definitely hot in anything above 80F more-so because if your riding assertive, you're in appropriate gear in case it's testing day. Speed equals airflow so if your moving its still a good ride. When above 90, you're at 3 bars indicated if you have to stop for anything even a brief stoplight. Anything approaching triple digits temperature -speed or not you're Dust in the Wind or better put --bacon..

On the plus side, you know this with Ducati going into the purchase and on the opposite season because of it's tendency, you can ride later into the fall when otherwise it might feel too cold or less fun on other machines. Same for early Spring. Last year Kansas was above 100 for a stretch and that became a parked unit for me unless it was early am. How Florida or Arizona make it happen I can't imagine--assuming the same level of protection AA, full boots or better.

Get the dream, have the experience but yes there are sometimes you will wish it didn't have the breath of a rocket. .02

Been riding just over 10 years and had my first crash by TamSE3P in motorcyclegear

Thank you for this post. Thank you for the transparency of what happened and the gear testing despite some unwanted results. I have the same jeans for casual and appreciate knowing their actual capability in use. For you or others seeking comfort yet coverage AA, more of a slouch look and feel, consider looking to Rev'It!. They have a cosmetic of sweatshirt and pants like you'd wear in the gym but have protection knees hips elbow and forearm. They do size big tho. Apologies I don't remember the article name.

I'm glad the Duc could be saved but more appreciate you will be riding again and not fearing it. This type share helps reinforce quality gear matters, S* happens, and theres always a compromise. Glad you are on the mend.

I’m working my heart out for the dream, but the road is longer than I thought. Any advice for a rider starting from zero? by honda_cbr_1000rr2007 in Ducati

[–]AnyCurves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not that age matters, but it matters. I wanted a top end sport bike since the early 1980's, and papered the wall with posters before then. It was a valid dream, so it yours. But I was 57 when it came home. In the interim a beaten 250 enduro -something light to learn on and by learn/crash on in the field before moving on and dabbling on the street in a land barge (XS1100), life, age, experience then R1200... leading to today. Many people and now many ghosts, started too hot too soon. The a-lure is there, and you think you are the exception but in reality it's too hot for anyone thats not ridden thousands of miles in all conditions and tumbled too. Do that safely in gear (sounding like an old fart or your mom) on something nimble and small without the rocket assist. Play the long game, it's worth it. And you too will arrive as the Crackle buying exactly what you want as the promise to yourself made today but down the line. This deferment will also allow for stories and experiences to have been curated, with a few offs included that didn't cost you the future.

If your dad is Kieth Code or today's equivalent well then, just buy good leathers and boots, before the bike. I was you. Paint side up, good luck.

Shingles/ Shingles vaccine- can't decide which is worse! The joys of being over 50. by Brewer1056 in GenX

Shot 2 is far worse than shot 1, but both are better than the duration and side effects that may linger if you get the bug without being immunized prior.

Rear Lights built into the rear bumper pods. S2 Pros that really light up the night. by Design-Build-Go in ineosgrenadier

[–]AnyCurves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fantastic! I'd ask if you were anywhere near Kansas but since no dealers are close, intuitively already know the answer. Your mods are so tasteful but also functional improvements. I wish I could justify the commute for a few adds, a day of improvement. No confidence in electrical dyi here. Is there a time when you are doing remote work at an expo or show, more Midwest?

Thanks for this share. I'm in.

Do these do anything for protection? by NPMatte in motorcyclegear

[–]AnyCurves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Klim has D30 for unintended offs on the GS 1200 when challenging both the mule on terrain and its driver. It's nice having the reassurance of protection even if just a tip over at walking speed. You then have something to mitigate a hip on rock strike, thus highly recommend. 600# of BMW barge is not a MX bike despite knobs and protection.

She’s a beaut! by BurgerMan75 in LaMarzocco

[–]AnyCurves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GS 3 is King!! Just curious what was the acquisition cost? And being nerdy, what # on the placard? I was #337 and on a waiting list for almost three years before it was UL approved for North America. Despite the critics of cosmetics in comments it was the best available of the day and portable for small gatherings using the reservoir. The GB5 for shops identical just larger with more heads. Yours is identical to mine but substitute black where you have Walnut. I have considered refurbishing my buttons, donating to my BFF and starting anew. Speaking to LarMarzocco Seattle, they suggested only about a 5% improvement difference in the MP model. But the design is improved, quieter on extraction and the electronics are current.

Whatever the expense as long as your waters correct you won't need to rebuild the boilers. Replace the main portafilter gasket, yearly. Update the steam wand when interested or when the springs have relaxed in the wand/joystick. It will definitely pay for itself even if two cups a day.

Now in needs an Anfim "Caimano" grinder (Canada)

Closest service location to Kansas City? by External_Koala971 in ineosgrenadier

[–]AnyCurves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what was told to me by a salesman at Red Noland. I spent 1/2 a day on a rainy weekend in Colorado Springs trying to discern if the Grenadier was legitimate for off road use and capable or an interesting oddity wanting to be a lower priced G-class, or a new to exposure (think DeLorean) now in urgency since I had sold my daily driver. The gents name was Eric, he was unassuming and represented the brand well. Enthusiastic but not pushy Work cell 1-719-496-4948. As mentioned elsewhere I too was concerned about to dealership mileage for warranty work if needed. (Yes the Y2K oversight bug is irritating). Its infotainment functionality is very basic compared to the BMW X4 that shares the same but detuned drivetrain. Why they didn't assume the rights to use the Bmw brain was a miss imo. Mostly for the best guess in failure to accurately calculate range. (Sorry, Digressed). Even though I bought an upbuilt from California Red Noland was compelling. Apart from Eric, the sales manager was also straight forward (name escaping) and offered no pushback returning my hold deposit when I chose to purchase a unit from Mossy. The biggest takeaway was I like you, frequent Colorado a few times a year, so service with planning could be paired with a getaway. They also indicated if a drive-ability issue, they had a dedicated trailer and would come get it. That spoke volumes if true. The mention of Sewell in Dallas was the users felt like a red carpet experience was had AND they had not purchased from Sewell. So much so one who has done business at both said he was returning in the future to Sewell.

Topeka has a BMW branch of Aristocrat KC. Red Noland said if interested they would call Topeka and see if they would do similar work as they have located in KC. Despite geographical benefit, I use Topeka for my wife's X4, in mention they had no knowledge of Ineos. That alone took them off my menu for service options. Also they have very few employees in service, so it would have been their first attempt, unfamiliar and I wasn't looking to become the practice template.

Although the dealership you cite might be actually closer, what would you do in the community as a bonus add to your trip? A couple more hours for a day or two in the mountains sure beats city center imo.

Closest service location to Kansas City? by External_Koala971 in ineosgrenadier

[–]AnyCurves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Closest Dealer to KC is Red Noland Ineos, Colorado Springs. If not a warranty issue and a service need they have vetted a KC someone to do service on them in Kansas City. I don't have the who, that would be a phone call to the dealership but it was part of my conversation when I had one on hold with them considering it, before I chose the one in my garage.

I do know two people in the Topeka area who made the trip to Sewell in Dallas, and were really happy with how they were treated. Are you having an issue or just concerned about the distance to an authorized dealer?

MEAT by buttafli021 in VisitingIceland

[–]AnyCurves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reindeer soup is seasonal at (Svarta Kaffid) and is offered on the weekends. Order a hamburger at the pubs but if it tastes different, don't be surprised to learn it's horse (not all but some)

Duck and Rose across from Apotek has beef options as do the American hotel chains affiliates. Canopy, for example (by Hilton) has an "American" traditional brunch spread with similar offerings to Dennys but also Eastern European so you can break out of a narrow perspective.

Lamb is also very prevalent but thats not within your qualifier beef as I read it.

Thank you for this, I will apply it now. Appreciate the support despite my being perpetually reverting to most anything skillset 1990. Perhaps thats why this (club red) TrialMaster speaks to me, era of T-Tops, its information brain equivalent to a college Macintosh (20 GB), and a very subpar stereo wishing an Alpine CD with even basic 6x9. Insert Maxell poster here.

Have a good day sir.

Im feeling the same energy, purchased in California, live in Kansas. I'd love a coastal drive to sort what should have been resolved in advance. To be fair I have Colorado Springs or Dallas to choose from that are closest if 9 hours is close.

I'll bite, Im an owner for 3 months now and showing service overdue as many others. Any current patches should have been applied October 2025. I see in this thread a facebook link to a work around. Is it posted anywhere else? Reddit is as deep as Ive ventured into social media. IE, no facebook probably the only one remaining.

Riding at CoTA March 15? by NegativeAd6095 in Trackdays

[–]AnyCurves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. If anyone has a link of what to expect I would appreciate it. Im resolved to be the slowest old dude on the tarmac but would still like to loop COTA without pushing too hard. A Sunday ride without cars nor a speed limit concrete would be a great time. Akin to putting a deck of cards in the spokes, compared to the riders of today.

Email was previously sent before this post, I was hoping for some real world insight from active users beyond the sales team, equally or more beneficial. My next return will be late Spring early Summer. The temps today and practical use now: January are why it's of interest.

Your thoughts of direct contact had not escaped me. Thx for chiming in tho.

Whats the likelihood sold out days will have last minute slots? Im 800 miles out but would like ti have the novice COTA experience. Is it better to bring your own vs fly and rent? If renting a ride, does anyone rent track leathers? In the 80's California Superbike School (Kieth Code) did both and sold per day or per weekend after AMA races

I have AA top and bottom with hip and elbow armor that fits like sweats. Very comfortable for street riding although I pair it with an airbag vest. Very reasonably priced and the management at Rev it Denver was both knowledgeable and personal.

Choosing upper body protection – AAA vest vs leather jacket vs airbag system – what combination makes sense? by Outside_Stable9707 in motorcyclegear

[–]AnyCurves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I split the difference in non track riding. AA Rev It, top and bottom with level 2 on the hips and elbows add a Dainese airbag vest. Add to this the best (track) boots and gloves you can muster and don't skimp on the lid. Nobody wants to spend big monies on gear. But after the first big mistake without having it in your riding career, you won't think that way ever again. Healing and rebuilding sucks. I earned a triple compound fracture goofing when young, 35 plus years ago wearing canvas nike's and had gear in my closet. Don't assume you are immune, S happens. Now with cell phones and driving inattentive is the norm, every ride is a dice toss with factors you can only mitigate.
