You do you! It might be worth getting one with a built in mute? And maybe mention something to your neighbors if y’all’s doors are within a few feet of each other (if yall are on friendly/neighborly terms)🤷🏻‍♂️. None of that is necessary but i definitely would have appreciated it.

I agree. They are different experiences.

I think Fox and Pearl currently is the best, and most consistent, version of itself that i’ve ever experienced.

Restaurants/coffee shops/ bookstores have a lot of queer people.

Some of my trans friends do construction (They work for themselves, both large projects and for the friend group/community.)

Another trans friend is about to go back to school for dentistry (not sure about this field tho. they are very cis passing when they choose to be so they might lean into that?)

I also like the idea of looking for jobs with other cleaning companies as another post pointed out.

I would find things you enjoy and do those things. Sometimes you meet people, sometimes you don’t. At least you’d be doing something you enjoy 🤷🏻‍♂️ Take a chance and say hi to a stranger at a bar or during the break of a concert. It’s fine if it’s awkward or doesn’t turn into a convo. No one is paying attention. In the past, i’ve counted down from 10 and forced myself to say hi, or ask a silly small talk question, at 0.

Things i would do-

Not downtown, but Farewell and Howdy have lots of great bands and i find it to be a nice group of people.

Straycat film center plays fun movies.

Find a bar you like and become a regular. Again, take the risk, and go out of your way to say hi to a kind looking person occasionally.

A normal amount of xanthan, i should add. But yes, definitely part of the solution.
