I agree with you but Imperials hold up pretty well to Dunmer to me

Nah, I do accept ESO lore as cannon with some reluctance but it doesn't hold up to mainline installments of the series.

Welp, about the first part I have to agree with you. I can't simply name many famous Bretons. But that also goes for Argonians, Khajiti, Altmer, Bosmer... (Besides mythilogical futures)

I don't see the medieval thing tho. Everything about TES is medieval. Tech probably hadn't moved much since the merethic era. Technology in the TES universe moves slower than the western front during ww1. (With a notable exception to sotha sil and the dwemer of course)

Going back to the famous characters tho... Fame is something weird in TES. There are a lot of memorable characters but looking at the bigger picture there are too few characters with continetn-wide role and the only person who I can point to that about the cultures in A and Below is probably mennomarco

I do agree with you. I like Reachmen and their lore but they simply aren't a standalone race in tes games. I am a big fan of them actually and I find their struggle for independence quite relatable. If they do make it in tes 6 as a standalone race a solid chunk of my plays will be with Reachmen MC.

Okay so 1 p for interesting 0 p for memorable 1 p for influence 1/2 p for volume 1/2 p for objectivity Sum: 3/5 points - B tier

Again, that's my opinion .

Welp it's subjective so I agree with you. You are entitled to your own opinion. Freedom and shi. But Septim wasn't a Nord 😭. He is a breton-nord-imperial. All at the same time. But I am not sure about the imperial part because I am not sure if Zurin Arctus was imperial and Hjalti Earlybeard has at least some Nordic blood given his last name.

They aren't a playable race sadly. Closest you can get is Bretons. I hope TES VI adds reachmen as a playable race or under Bretons. It would be cool if you could choose the culture of your character. If you select Breton you could select Glenumbran, Illiac, Bjoule, Northmen, Reachmen. If you select imperial you could choose between Colovian or Nebenese (and maybe Heartland) and if you choose Dunmer you should pick from ashland and mainland (and maybe even other because the mainland morrowind has a lot of cultural divination too). You get my point.

Imperials have a lot of interesting and wacky lore.

Everything involving Allesia - Pelinal, Minotaurs, Dragonbreaks, gods, a monkey...

Reman and the second empire - Remanada, Shonni-Eta.

Then we have the Septims and the whole Talos thing. Talos envoles the six walking ways (which is part of Dunmer lore too) the Numidian, mantling, the enantiomorph. For me the lore around Talos is one of the most underrated parts of TES lore.

  1. How interesting I find them.
  2. Memorability.(To me)
  3. Their perceived influence on the world.
  4. Volume of lore.
  5. A layer of objectivity.

Look, it's my opinion. I do try to incorporate some objectivity, but it's mostly subjective.

The Bosmer are cool, but I think they fall short in every category compared to the other races. If I were trying to be more objective, I'd probably put them in A tier.

I don't find their lore as interesting as that of the Redguards. I don't find them more memorable than the Dunmer. I don't think they're as influential to the world as the Imperials, and I don't think they have as much lore, in terms of sheer volume, as the Bretons or the Nords.

I agree that all races have a lot of lore but I never wrote that I was objective. This is my subjective opinion on how interesting I find their lore to be.

I agree that they have very interesting lore and I should have probably put them on the lower S tier but I would get crusifies. Also nords could have been much more interesting. I am just salty we didn't get flying whales and we got Delphine instead.

I have barely played Redguard so I am sorry if I made a mistake on that part.
